About Me

As preschool supervisor; I bring an enthusiastic and positive attitude to the developing world of
early years education in a constant reflective and everchanging sector. I have worked with
children since I was 16years old its all I have always wanted to do. I receive great satisfaction that
my impact on the children gives them the best possible start in life.
I currently find myself getting "itchy feet" I have been in my current post for the past almost 6
years, in this time I have implemented changes and positive practice. My nearly 10year old son
has started year 5 and needs me a little less, and once he's at secondary school I am sure he will
be even more independent. So perhaps now is the time to start my search for a new adventure
and challenge.
Within my current role I have a wonderful balance of being a key person and actively being
present to welcome all of the children, although I do have designated office time to complete
certain tasks I am mainly room biased 90% of my week with the children. doing what I love the
most. Day to day you will find me mixing up potions in the outdoor classroom mud kitchen, going
for ana adventure in our wooden car, wiping up a batch of playdough with the children they always
love to add a bit of glitter to the mixture! I love story telling and one of my absolute favourites is the
invisible string!
There is a lot of leadership experience that I have in my current employment; I oversee a team of
early years practitioners supporting them through their professional development, mentoring and
leading practice. I hold safer recruitment training, I am required to complete annual appraisals,
supervisions and peer-on-peer observations.
As designated person for safeguarding; I regularly support children and families in my setting on
support pathways and liaise with other professionals at team around the family meetings. I am
fully aware of the responsibility and duty of care i have to all children growing up in a world safe
from harm. I am confident within this subject so much so that I am able to deliver safeguarding
level 2 training to all my staff annually via train the trainer scheme with Essex county council
saving the pre-school the cost of an external trainer.
I hold a huge passion for SEND within the setting I am the designated SENCo and I have
completed many additional training and CPD causes within this field the most prominent being my
CERTSY Level 3 in SEND which is a sand alone qualification but has enhanced my knowledge
and understanding of SEND practice I have successfully summitted ECHP that have all been
approved for transitioning children. one planning and meetings with families and other
professionals are all a regular part of my current role and my love and enthusiasm for inclusion is
a real strength.
