My Summary
Ofsted Registered Holistic Childminder, A Large Setting With Outdoor Play All Year Round.
About Me
Hi! I am an Ofsted registered childminder and mother of two based in Houghton Conquest Village. I specialise in children’s mental health and provide a quality home from home experience. My setting uses Hygge based teaching methods and is most suited for children who are happy to be out in nature all year round. Being a member of the forest school association, we have forest club where the children are very engaged in outdoor learning, they are rewarded of their achievements with certificate’s.
We are often out and about with our hammocks and crafts, we aren’t afraid of messy play/ puddle jumping.
Children will be meeting their developmental milestones through activities that encourage independence and confidence whilst having lots of fun of course!
Whilst we do need some rules for safety, my policy is strictly no harsh discipline in this setting, solely a holistic approach and good choices are always encouraged through patience and understanding. Please message me with any questions you may have.

Below are the latest reviews for Carlie. Please note that reviews represent the subjective opinions of other Childcare.co.uk users and not of Childcare.co.uk. Parents must carry out their own checks and references on childcare providers to ensure that they are completely happy before enaging in the use of their services.
Our daughter who is two, started with Carlie in June after a string of terrible experiences and let downs with other providers. Due to our emotional state at the time having been pushed from pillar to post, I was beside myself having to leave my daughter with another new person and new environment, however I needn’t have worried! Carlie is warm, caring and professional, she went through all of her extensive qualifications and supporting certifications/paperwork which gave me great confidence in her abilities and credibility. We spoke at length about her passion for a more holistic approach to childcare and education, which really aligns with our family values and focus on emotional development.
Our daughter was inevitably very upset on her first few drop off’s but Carlie did not put pressure on us to “drop and go” she gave me ample time in her home to comfort my daughter and explain that I would leave her now but return later. Carlie eases the worry throughout the day by sending updates with photos of their activities and adventures.
The level of thought and care that Carlie provides is wonderful and it’s very clear that our daughter is thriving there. One day I forgot to include my daughters evening meal and Carlie without hesitation offered to provide her dinner with her daughters, and then proceeded to send me an adorable photo of her absolutely made up to be having the same tea as the big girls (Carlie’s daughters) it’s these sorts of actions that really make a difference and we know we can always depend on Carlie.
Lilah joined Carlie in June, and in this short time, the care she has received has been exceptional. Lilah, who is naturally shy and reserved, has settled in beautifully, which is entirely due to Carlie’s soft, calm, and caring nature.
Lilah often observes her surroundings before gradually getting involved. Carlie respected this and was incredibly patient, allowing Lilah to adjust at her own pace. Now, they share a lovely bond, and it’s clear that Lilah feels safe and happy in her care.
We particularly value Carlie’s focus on children’s emotional development. She takes the time to nurture each child’s unique needs, which has helped Lilah come out of her shell and thrive.
As parents, it can be concerning when young children cannot verbalise their feelings, but Lilah’s actions and emotions leave no doubt that she is thriving under Carlie’s care. I’ve often remarked to Carlie how unbelievably calm her home always seems, no matter when I visit. The environment she creates is peaceful, and Lilah always comes home fed, clean, and content.
Another aspect of Carlie’s care that we love is her dedication to outdoor activities. Lilah regularly spends time exploring the woods, learning new skills, and gaining a deeper understanding of the world around her.
Carlie’s communication is also excellent. She provides regular updates and videos throughout the day, which reassures us that Lilah is in the best possible hands. We’re incredibly grateful for the kindness and care Carlie has shown to Lilah. We would wholeheartedly recommend her to any parent looking for a caring, dedicated, and nurturing childminder.
Carlie is very kind, caring and professional. Her home is beautiful and she clearly cares about the children she looks after. I’m so glad we’ve found Carlie to provide a home from home setting for our boys!
