Hello! I'm Layla an Australian Childcare educator who has been living in Newcastle for the past two years. My passion is working with children and families as a team, supporting you as much as your child and finding ways to help you be the best parent you can be! I believe that children are capable of far more than most people believe and with support and care they can develop a strong inner voice and self confidence. I am quite a bubbly person and you'll often find me singing, dancing or reading animatedly to your child, learning comes from having fun!
In my free time I love to cook, do various crafts (including sewing), spend time with friends and spend time in nature.
My Experience
I've been working with children in various capacities for 11 years. Before moving to Newcastle I was an educator in a Childcare centre in Australia for 5 years working with children aged 6 weeks - 6 years as well as running our forest school program. For the past 2 years I have been a Nanny to a wonderful 6 year old who I've known since she was a baby back in Australia. I am still working with her Tuesday - Thursdays and am looking for some extra work on a Monday or Friday. I love working with children of all ages but have a particular love for working with -2 year olds as that was my main role for 3 years.
My Qualifications
I have a Certificate lll in early childhood education and care, as well as various training in areas such as forest school, safe sleep, child development, infant care, baby led weaning, parent support, learning through play, and many more.
My Availability
I am ideally looking to work one long day a week on a Monday (or Friday if preferred) as I already care for another child on Tuesdays - Thursdays
