About Me
My name is Leah, I am 28 and I am a newly registered childminder based in the Whitestone area of Nuneaton. I live in my home with my partner, Paul, our 2 year old cocker spaniel named Cali and our rabbits, Cockle and Clemmie.
I strive to offer the children in my care a variety of learning experiences and opportunities to nurture a sense of joy and passion for learning. My curriculum follows the Early Years Foundation Stages Framework and I believe a nurturing, connective approach supports children and helps them to become the best version of themselves; I offer a combination of child led play, exploration and adult led activities incorporating children's passions and interests. All activities are planned to consider and meet children's individual needs and developmental stages.
My setting is a home from home environment, children have access to the downstairs area and a secure garden.
My Experience
I have over seven years experience working in children's services supporting children and their families with managing and overcoming difficult experiences. Throughout this time, I have worked within early help, child in need and child protection teams supporting children and their families to make positive changes in their lives, reduce risk and improve life outcomes. My main responsibility has been the safeguarding of children and young people.
I have completed a vast amount of training in safeguarding, trauma informed practice and approaches in supporting and managing children's behaviour and development.
