About Me

Currently undergoing childminder training and taking on new children from January 2025 :

Hello, my name is Jordan and I am a 26 year old Early Years Educator. I have a level 2 in childcare (soon to be level 3) which I acquired just after having my daughter in 2023. I have had lots of experience with children from 0 - 11 as my mum was a childminder growing up from early toddlerhood until I left home at 18. I have of course in this time, learnt a great amount about kids behaviour, personalities and overall understand babies, toddlers and children very well.
I am myself, quite a happy soul who isn’t afraid to also play on the floor with the kids, jump on the bouncy castles and overall just create that bond a child needs in order to feel happy, safe and secure.

I am really passionate about giving children the best start in life, and really making them feel at ease within their day to day.

Activities:

I have had experience in years of athletics, prepping to compete in bodybuilding competitions during covid. Alongside this, I am overall quite athletic. I like to do yoga, ballet etc with the children to enhance their fitness abilities and create a healthy, productive and enjoyable environment.

I truly believe is following the EYFS curriculum so each child has the best start in life. From using different variations of sensory items, logical-thinking toys and creating art, I consider my home to be a place of fun and learning. Singing nursery rhymes, dancing and overall having a very nurturing, creative and joyful environment is very important to me and my setting.

I do like to enhance children’s play and learning by treating everyday like an adventure. Whether that means collecting and counting stones at the beach together, painting, having days dedicated to books with activities that align well to the book + spending time in the community at local soft-plays and playgroups.

I also follow a very montesorri approach to children’s toys and overall learning by having wooden, logical thinking toys that help a child’s brain develop.
As part of our montesorri approach, I like to run each day on a schedule to make sure each child is feeling secure with their day to day life.

We do read a lot of books and I really encourage reading time with the children multiple times a day, as I believe it’s important for children to learn and understand speech and language, which causes less frustration as they get older.

Location:

I currently live in a maisonette in central Hove which has a large landing, bedroom (with black out blinds) and a large living room for the children to play.

Meals:

I do promote healthy eating in which I can offer. If you have any allergies or intolerances I can also cater to this in advance.

I am in the meantime, babysitting children alongside my daughter in others homes / short periods of time outdoors is available. If local, I have a double buggy and a car in which I am able to transport little ones on rainy days (insurance as well for this).
