About Me

Hello families! I am Alexandra. I am an Ofsted registered nanny. I have worked with children and families for 20 years and I love it! Working with children has always been a passion of mine ever since I was a child myself.
I am a mum and a qualified teacher and I have worked with children and families in different capacities – as a family support worker, co-ordinator of a children’s centre, teaching in primary school and since 2014 a teacher in a maintained nursery school. I have a great enthusiasm for early years education. I see working in partnership with parents as essential to good care and education.
I am a mum of a friendly and sociable 2-year-old and we love going out whatever the weather. We love the park, attending groups in the local area including libraries and children’s centres. We often venture further afield to parks and museums in central London. We also enjoy being at home doing activities such as cooking and baking and arts and crafts, and we love music and singing.
I aspire to create an environment that supports the continuity of care and routines established in your family. Transitioning from the sole care of our primary carers can be a daunting experience for everyone concerned. I see it as vitally important to support this transition in a child-centred way, to form the foundation for a happy settled child. I believe a child’s wellbeing comes first and forms the foundation for learning and development.
I plan activities and excursions in line with the families wishes that support the child's well-being and development, with opportunities for children to follow their own interests as well as attending regular groups and trips. I am proactive, keeping up to date with what is going on in the local area as well as further afield. I make sure to plan activities to meet the interest of older children such as crafts, cooking, gardening etc set up after school and in the holidays, as well as time to relax after their busy school day.
All children and families are different and unique, they have different interests, needs and stages of development. I believe in celebrating the culture and diversity of the families and children I work with, with plenty of opportunities to meet the interests and right level of challenge for each child.
