About Me
Myself and my husband are first time parents to our daughter Ava who was born May 2024. We live in the town centre of Royston Hertfordshire with our dog King. I am currently on maternity, planning on returning to work from March 2025, however want to get ahead to find the right childcare for Ava. Something that is not only trustworthy and safe but also is an environment which is enriching and supportive for her development.
At present we are open to options and discussing requirements as firm plans haven’t been put in place yet. We welcome any expertise and suggestions to make the work/life balance best for our family.
My Requirements
A typical working day for my husband and I starts relatively early as we both commute, so early morning availability is important. (8am starts wouldn’t be feasible)
We are happy for childcare to take place at our home or at a providers premises. Again start times would be dependent on where this would take place (needing to factor in commute to station, pick up/drop off). Location would be very important and will need to be within walking distance or a short 5-10min drive from home.
Requirements would be for a minimum of 4 days, potentially 5. At present I would assume a need for 7:30-6. However if there was options to start earlier and finish earlier I would be keen to explore with the childminder and request a change in hours at work to allow more evening time with Ava before bed.
I am guaranteed at least 1 day a week working from home, so there would be more flexibility for start/finish time. With this we could also work with grandparents to help potential wraparound care.
I appreciate that the request is very vague at the moment, being new to this we are flexible to suggestions! While absolutely not a requirement and depending on providers set up, if other services outside the typical childcare were something a candidate would carry out at our home, we would be open to also exploring (light housework, meals etc) In this case you would need to be dog friendly :-)
Our primary goal is to have a friendly and stable routine for Ava, but also try if at all possible to take as much pressure off our day to day!
