My Summary
About Me
Choosing the right nanny must be extremely stressful, considering what is at stake. It must be hard to leave your children with a friend, let along a complete stranger. So I want to start with a statement:
I am a perfectly normal and reliable person, who loves children. Not your typical nanny though. I believe I can offer more.
I am trilingual (EN,HU,RO) and highly educated(BA), most suited for those who wish their children's creativity and knowledge base improved while in care. I am strict, but kind and there is time for fun too. I have artistic skills (portfolio available), I play the flute and piano, I swim and ice-skate, knit and crochet and have an unlimited imagination.
I tried a few fields of work, but I decided that I prefer children. There is a certain feeling of fulfillment when I teach them something useful.
I have been learning Jo Frost's techniques and advice on childcare and I follow a similar approach.
I am proudly health conscious and hold a vast knowledge about nutrition, vitamins and natural ingredients. (No fast food and sweets on my watch!)
I would regularly exercise with the children - skating, cycling, swimming, basketball and other outdoor activities. Indoors, I favour the mentally challenging games to boost their IQ or something creative, but I would not refuse a board-game or chess either. Children above age 8 must read at least two books per month. I would regulate TV-time and supervise the chosen movies. Some movies can influence children in a negative way, even children's programs.
There can be no evening without bed-time story, which I find an essential part of the day and would advise parents to participate.
My field of interests are: geography/travel, history, fine art, photography, art history, biology, nature, animals, languages and many more. I am currently learning Italian, and Spanish is next on the list. My bedside reading is the Dictionary of Essential Knowledge. My hobby is to know things most people don't.
I also love children's fairy tales. I am familiar with Andersen and the Grimm brothers and genuinely enjoy watching cartoons. I am more than happy to take the children to the cinema.
I am able to create games, which are fun, but children would learn during the game.
I encourage reading and exercise. I don't like to see children with smart phones and useless computer games.
I promote healthy eating, this includes organic food, no preservatives, no frying, no sweets.
I can teach children so many things in an interesting and captivating way.
I am also extremely hygienic and my cleaning standards are very high. I am knowledgeable about all aspects of housekeeping.
My ideal family is not looking for a person, who is present at all times just to avoid problems, cleans up after the children and is just an employee.
They would want a nanny who wouldn't always pick up the dirty laundry, but teaches the children the importance of doing chores. They would allow me to discipline children (with consequences) and work with me on it, so I can help them raise smart, respectful and essentially good people.
I am looking forward to find a family with similar thinking and approach.
