About Me
I am an experienced and fully qualified English teacher offering 1:1 and small group tuition from Welford and Lutterworth. I am passionate about teaching English and I thrive on helping young people develop their confidence, skills and expertise in my subject.
I have a thorough knowledge of the English curriculum and the AQA exam board in particular. Although my specialism is KS3 and GCSE English, I have also prepared primary school students for SATS and Entrance Exams. Guided by students' needs, my lessons are tailored to bridge gaps in learning and to challenge students where necessary.
Over the years I have successfully worked with students of varying abilities and I have a proven track record - both as a teacher and a tutor.

My Experience
Having successfully worked as a secondary school teacher in Leicestershire schools for thirty years, I recently decided to leave the classroom to become a full time tutor.
Alongside classroom teaching, I have been a private tutor for twelve years. I initially worked with a tutoring franchise before branching out in 2018 and starting up my own business: English Boost Tuition.
Before training and qualifying as a secondary school teacher, I taught English as a Foreign Language to young people and adults in Malta, Italy, Spain and the UK.
My Qualifications
I have a BA (Hons), a PGCE in secondary, specialising in English, and a TEFL Certificate.
Additionally, I have a full DBS and up-to-date safeguarding training.
My Availability
I am available Monday to Thursday - afternoons and evenings.
