Hi! I'm Emily, a warm and friendly 30 year old originally from South Wales and now living on my own in Weston-super-Mare. I'm a trustworthy, honest and sensible person, and have worked in previous roles at Avon and Somerset Constabulary, South Wales Regional Organised Crime Unit, and most recently Transport for Wales. In my spare time I enjoy music, cooking, comedy, researching (psychology mostly), and keeping fit (hiking, badminton, rock climbing). I'm a clean and tidy, glass-half-full type of person, and I try to spread warmth and kindness wherever I go.
I'd love to find a likeminded family to whom I can offer my help and make a positive impact in whichever way is required.
Unfortunately I don't have my own transport at the moment but I'm more than willing to walk or use public transport.
My Experience
I love working with children and feel passionate about meeting their needs and care to the utmost of my ability. Before university I worked for ITNMark Education agency as a supply teaching assistant across various nurseries and primary schools in Cardiff. The duration of each position varied from between 1-2 days - multiple weeks, allowing me a breadth of experience working with numerous children of different ages and needs. Presently, my best friend of 18 years has young children (3 and 8) whom I often babysit at the weekend.
My Qualifications
Although I do not have any specific NVQ/diploma level qualifications in childcare, I have 11 GCSEs, including Child Development - plus A Levels in Psychology, Sociology, Welsh and English Literature.
I also have a First-Class (Hons) degree in Criminology, and a Merit MSc degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice.
Whilst at university I worked as a Student Residence Assistant where I received first aid training and general property maintenance training too.
My Availability
Having recently moved to WSM and consequently leaving my role at Transport for Wales, I am available throughout the week, although weekdays are preferred.
