My Summary

My Experience

For the last two summers, I have worked full time at a nursery in Edinburgh. Before leaving for university, I was told by my manager that I was a natural with children and that I was always enthusiastic to work in different rooms and interact new children and staff. My time at the nursery allowed me to engage with groups of children from newborns to 5 year olds. I learned not only how to communicate with children of those ages, but also the importance of regular communication with the parents about their children’s activities and behaviour. I always used a positive reinforcement method when talking to the children, remaining patient and attentive throughout. I led many activities with the children in order to widen the range of their skills, including writing and reading.

My Qualifications

Food training - I have been trained on food awareness and on cutting food into small, manageable bites that are not circular.
Safe sleep training - I have experience make sure that children are sleeping safely by doing regular breathing checks.
Nappy training - I have been trained to change a nappy efficiently and hygienically while the child is comfortable.
