My Summary
About Me
I am a fun, creative, nurturing and empathetic nanny. I love going on adventures whether they be real or make believe, inside or outside. I like to keep busy and enjoy sensory and experimental themed activities. I enjoy reading especially making different voices for the characters in the story.
I enjoy working with children and helping them to reach their full potential, by meeting their individual needs physically, mentally and emotionally, to help them be the best version of themselves.
I have 2 grown children of my own and currently help out with looking after my baby goddaughter.
I am looking for a part time position during the week day mornings and/or nights, but would consider full time. I am very flexible with my hours and happy to help out occasionally on weekends as well if required.
I have a valid DBS and I am on the update service. I have completed annual safeguarding training and I’m first aid trained.
My Experience
I have over 10 years of experience working with children, from coaching ice skating, being a HLTA in schools (all year groups) and working in children’s residential homes.
I have most recently been working in children’s residential homes where I have provided care for various children with different needs both physically and mentally. Some of our children have autism, ADHD or/and trauma. I have also supporting children with more physical complex needs provided them with self care and adapting activities to ensure they are concluded.
I have maintained a clean, safe and fun living environment and prepared healthy meals throughout the day. As well as planning outings for the children that they would enjoy and that they have shown interest in as well as educational visits, such as museums, science activities ect.
During my time as an ice skating instructor I taught children from as young as 2 how to safely have fun on the ice and how to skate, with older ones passing tests and competing in competitions. I also planned and organised ice skating events such as in house competitions and end of year shows.
As a HLTA I supporting children in the learning 1-1, in small groups and whole class. I planned, prepared and delivered interventions adapted to the individuals learning needs and recorded their progress through the year.
