About Me

Graduated with a BN in Adult Nursing in 2009. Since then I have worked as a staff nurse and got promoted to charge nurse at a nursing home, then moved onto a different company to work as staff nurse to gain more experience. Working as a named nurse in a Dementia Unit, I have gained valuable knowledge about dementia and person centred care. As much as I enjoyed my role at the care home, I wanted a change of direction and a new challenge so applied for the theatre development programme through BMI Healthcare in 2014 and I have worked in theatres since as a scrub nurse. Through my studies and work I have gained valuable theoretical knowledge. I have then been able to apply this in practice when I am at work and teach others the knowledge I have gained. I am enthusiastic to build upon this through the learning opportunities offered through work and I enjoy attending training days to help increase my knowledge and experience so I can then apply this in practice.
Since having my daughter, I am looking for a change of direction. I have fantastic organisational skills and time keeping. I like my day to go to plan as much as possible while enjoying interaction with others.
People describe me as honest, trustworthy and fun.

My Experience

As well as having a daughter myself I have the following experience!

Employment History
Supply Support Worker at Thrive Childcare-present: I decided that as well as working at Kidsize during the holidays, I wanted to work with children outwith the holidays so applied for this role. This job has allowed me work with babies, toddlers and preschoolers which I enjoy. I have been able to support children of all ages with growing up and learning whether it is to assist with meals etc, to help play or encourage learning. I listen to their needs and wishes while ensuring they are safe at all times. The best thing I find about this job is watching them play happily and making friends.
Kids entertainer/holiday club member for Kidsize, Aberdeen 2021-present: I decided to have a complete change of career, away from caring and since having my daughter, the idea of working for children interested me the most. I am part of the holiday club team where I help organise events and tasks which consist of games, crafts and more. I have since got my children’s first aid qualification. I enjoy supporting the children in ensuring they are happy, having fun and making friends.
