It's really great to be able to reach out to you and give you a bit more of a background about myself and also why I would love to become an au pair!
I’ve had a taster of what it's like living in a different culture having spent the past couple summers out in the US working as a summer camp councillor! I specialised in all things waterfront as I love the outdoors and anything to do with the water! I grew up in the countryside and spent a lot of my childhood outside in the fresh air on our family farm! This is why I feel it is so important that kids spend lots of time playing outside, exploring and learning about all nature has to offer! Reading is also a big passion for me! I absolutely love being able to sit with a child and read a book together, becoming emerged in different stories and using there imagination as much as possible, as well as giving them the opportunity to read to me too! I think it is super important to share these sorts of moments with them as it’s a major part of their development!
I have a degree in textile design and i absolutely love being creative! Self expression and having a passion for something in life is super important for me! My favourite form of expression is art and design! I find it is a great way of decompressing and expressing my creativity! I love to share my love of art with kids and help them discover there own passion in whatever from it takes! Whether it be music, sports, dance or all these things combined, the list goes on!
I am a big family person and adore my family so, I would love to be able to find a similar connection with a host family out in the states! I absolutely love the culture out in America and being able to share parts of my culture with another family would be so much fun! I have learnt a lot from my time working with children and feel that you can put your complete trust in me to take care of your own little ones, making our time together as fun as possible!
My Experience
I have extensive childcare experience, ranging from working at an American summer camp with children aged 4-16 to serving as a nanny for children as young as 10 months old. At the summer camp, I was responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being, and engagement of large groups of children across various age groups. My duties included organizing and leading age-appropriate activities, supervising outdoor adventures, resolving conflicts, and providing emotional support to campers as they navigated new experiences away from home. My Qualifications
I am DBS-checked and have completed infant first aid training, ensuring I am equipped to handle emergencies and prioritize the safety and well-being of children in my care. While I do not hold formal childcare qualifications, my hands-on experience and commitment to professional development have provided me with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide excellent care for children of all ages. My training and background reflect my dedication to creating a safe and nurturing environment for every child.
