Hello! My name is Kallie. I’m 22 years old and currently in my first year at Bangor University studying marine biology. I absolutely love the outdoors, and I value creativity, hands-on learning, and exploration. I play rugby for the university women’s team, and am a member of several societies and clubs outside of that. I grew up doing a wide range of things including sports, choir, theatre, and Girl Scouts (I’m from the US!), so I’m all about a life of experiences and skill-building.
I’m an extrovert at heart and really enjoy connecting with others. I genuinely love doing activities with kids, and have found that babysitting provides me with a sense of joy that other jobs have seriously lacked. I hope to one day work with kids as an environmental educator and conservation project leader, so this isn’t a one-off task that I’m doing for extra cash. I’m invested in bringing joy and wonder to the lives of the next generations, and making sure that they have safe, encouraging people around them at all times.
I’m more than happy to complete background checks, drug tests, or other screenings that you may feel necessary before allowing me into your home and in your child’s space. I understand the weight of the responsibility you are entrusting to me. Your child’s safety is in my hands, and I take that very seriously.
My Experience
I’ve been child minding and pet sitting since I was about 13 years old. In Girl Scouts, I was often in charge of the youngest girls and really enjoyed working with them. Throughout school I did occasional weekend sitting, and also worked at my church in the nursery. I have two nephews and a niece who I watch frequently when home, as well as young cousins and family friends’ kids when needed.
I was an au pair for multiple families (one in Iceland and a few in the UK) after graduating high school. I did that from October 2021 until September 2023, when I returned home to work a “normal” job for a year. Alongside restaurant work, I babysat for a few families at home several day a week and on occasional weekends.
I have also worked at a Girl Scout summer camp as a campsite counselor and waterfront staff, and have done lifeguard training (but not an official qualification course).
I really do have a passion for childcare, and I tend to bond quickly with the children I’m watching. I have experience ranging from newborns to 18, and am comfortable with all ages. I’m typically happy with 1-4 kids, and will consider more than 4 with some discussion. I tend to avoid screen time and engage the kids with myself and each other, but I always follow the routine that’s requested by parents.
As I was an au pair, I’m very comfortable with overnight sitting and pets. I will not keep children or pets in my own home, and I do not own a vehicle- though I do have a full US license and can currently drive with that in the UK. I have basic first aid training including CPR/AED, and have previously taken a Red Cross course called Babysitting First Aid/CPR/AED.

My Availability
My university schedule changes every week, but I can see it quite far in advance. Please message me with your needs and I’ll let you know what I can do! In general, my weekends are very free.
I’m unavailable Mondays and Wednesdays until March when our rugby season ends. Tuesday and Thursday evenings I am available, as well as Friday nights after 8pm. I’m happy to do overnight sitting on weekends, and during the week as long as I can leave in time for class.
If you live outside of Bangor or Menai Bridge, I’d need to arrange a ride or work around public transport. I’m also comfortable taking a cut in pay if you want to provide transport.
