Hi! My name is Emily and I’m 18 years old. Currently, I’m in my first year at the University of Glasgow, studying International Relations. I have extensive experience working with children in both an academic and pastoral capacity, as detailed below. My Experience
In my last three years of high school I worked as a babysitter for two, three year old twin boys. My responsibilities extended to helping them learn English, as their first language is Chinese, through reading and playing with them for two hours an evening, three days a week. Additionally, I have worked on residential, activity camps for international students aged between 8 and 17 aiming to learn English. This includes waking the children up, organising activities, running activities, and putting them to sleep. I worked as a Senior Activity Leader on the last two camps, running closed groups of up to 50 children from China aged 10 to 11. This role saw me taking charge during weekend excursions, meaning I have been responsible for the safety of 50 young children in settings ranging from the British Museum to Thorpe Park.
My Qualifications
Through working on camps, I am a qualified Designated Safeguarding Lead, I have a DBS check from January 2025, and I’m First Aid Trained and qualified.
I’m currently in first year working towards an MA(SocSci) in International Relations. At A-Levels I achieved A*, A*, A in French, Spanish, and Politics.
My Availability
I’m available in the evening, after 6pm everyday. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I’m completely free to work whatever hours are required. I’m open to working on an ad hoc basis.
