About Me
Hello, I'm Charlotte - I'm 30 years old and moved to Devon a couple of years ago with my partner and our dog, to be closer to nature. I'm currently training part-time as a psychotherapist, a career change following 10 years of working for large companies in London. Whilst I study and start seeing clients privately, I'm looking to support a family with childcare, ideally for a couple of days during the week whilst you're at work.
I'm warm, calm, responsible and genuinely enjoy spending time with little people. I know how important their early years of development are, and your peace of mind. I would be committed to upholding boundaries in the way you like to parent, ensuring their safety, coming up with fun and educational activities, spending plenty of time outside, preparing healthy meals and making sure that you come home to a nice environment.
My Experience
Most recently I am working as a therapist for adults, and in corporate roles (Octopus Energy, NatWest, Deloitte etc). However I used to work with children quite a lot, as a:
- Mentor to a child in London via The Kids Network
- Nanny for a family with 3 boys (ages 9 and 7)
- Babysitter
- Senior sailing instructor running RYA youth courses (responsible for large groups of children age 7+) at various centres, and ran groups with schools, cubs, scouts etc.
- Assistant at a before and after school club
I haven't worked in childcare roles for many years, so specific nanny references might be a little tricky but I can provide more general character references and of course, I'm very happy to interview and answer any questions you may have.
My Qualifications
Enhanced DBS check.
Full UK Driving licence 10+years.
MSC Integrative Psychotherapy (current)
BSc Business Administration
Straight As/A* at A-level and GCSEs (I'm happy to help with school homework)
First Aid experience though not a current certificate or infant specific.
I've done extensive safeguarding training both as a therapist, as a mentor for London Kids Network and in my previous sailing instructor role.
Not currently registered as a childminder/nanny though happy to look into this.
My Availability
I'm open to a couple of days a week on a regular basis, have some flexibility currently as I'm developing my own therapy client base, though advance planning and consistency in the schedule would be really helpful. It might be possible for me to help with the odd evening / weekend with prior arrangement. If I have any planned leave affecting work days in our calendar, I will always give you as much notice as possible.
