My Summary
About Me
Hey! my name is Khrystal and I am a passionate, dedicated childminder with extensive experience in early childhood care. Having worked in nurseries, after-school clubs, and as both a nanny and childminder, I have developed a deep understanding of the diverse needs of children aged 3 weeks upwards. As a mother myself, I believe this gives me a unique perspective on nurturing and supporting children through their growth and development.
I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, i am St. John Ambulance trained, and have a pediatric first aid certification (2024), ensuring that I provide not only engaging care but also a safe and secure environment for children. I also have a safeguarding certificate, so you can rest assured that the well-being of the children in my care is always my top priority.
My approach to childminding is flexible and tailored to the age and development stage of the child. For younger children (ages 2-5), I prefer a more active approach, often taking them out and about for fun, educational experiences in local parks and woodlands, or engaging in messy play, trips to ball pits ect. I believe these outdoor adventures are invaluable for physical and social development, allowing children to explore, discover, and play in nature.
For newborns and babies (0-12 months), I take a calmer more soothing approach, focusing on activities like baby massage classes, stay-and-play sessions, story circle time, and tummy time, some in a calm, nurturing home environment. I understand the importance of providing a comforting space that fosters emotional bonding and sensory development during these early months.
I pride myself on having a balanced work and home lifestyle, which is one of the reasons I adore childminding. It allows me to seamlessly combine my passion for working with children while maintaining and nurturing my own child, because of flexible hours. This balance not only benefits the children in my care but also helps me remain grounded and present in my own family life.
I take my role as a childminder very seriously, and I aim to make your child’s time with me fun, educational, and enriching. I am committed to supporting your child's emotional, social, and educational needs, helping them feel safe, valued, and able to express themselves.
I am also happy to provide references and copies of my certificates for your viewing, so you can feel confident in my qualifications and commitment to high-quality care.
If you're looking for a caring, reliable, and experienced childminder, I would love to hear from you!
A Balanced Approach to Work and Family
I believe that having a balanced work and home life is key to providing the best care for children. Childminding allows me to seamlessly blend my professional role with my personal life, creating a nurturing, family-friendly environment where both my own child and the children I care for can thrive. This balance helps me stay present, energetic, and focused on each child's individual needs. The ability to work from home, interacting with the children in a natural, familiar setting, allows for meaningful moments of connection and learning while maintaining a calm, relaxed atmosphere for all involved.
My Experience
I have a diverse range of experience in early childhood care, having worked in nurseries, after-school clubs, and as both a nanny and childminder. Over the years, I've gained hands-on experience with children from 3 weeks old up to school age, which has given me a deep understanding of the different developmental stages and the unique needs that come with each. My roles have allowed me to support children's growth in various settings, from educational activities and play in nurseries to one-on-one care as a nanny. Additionally, as a mother myself, I have firsthand experience of the challenges and joys of child-rearing, which helps me relate to both children and parents in a personal and empathetic way.
My Qualifications
My Qualifications
I am fully committed to providing the highest standard of care, and my qualifications reflect that dedication. I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to meet the complex needs of children and vulnerable individuals, ensuring that I can offer both professional and compassionate care.
I am St. John Ambulance trained, which means I am well-prepared to handle any medical or emergency situation that might arise. This training is complemented by my Pediatric First Aid Certification (2024), so I am always ready to respond quickly and effectively to any health concerns, ensuring the children in my care are safe at all times.
Additionally, I have completed a Safeguarding Certificate, which deepens my understanding of how to protect children from harm and recognize any signs of abuse or neglect. This qualification helps me create a safe environment where children feel secure and supported, and I take safeguarding very seriously in all aspects of my work.
With these qualifications, I ensure that the children in my care receive not only stimulating, engaging activities but also the peace of mind that comes with knowing they are being cared for by someone with the proper knowledge, experience, and training.
My Availability
Availability & Flexibility
I offer flexible working hours, which can be discussed to suit your family's needs. I understand that every household has different routines, and I do my best to accommodate varying schedules wherever possible. That said, I also have a few non-negotiables, as my own child takes part in regular activities that are part of our weekly routine.
However, in many cases, I’m more than happy to bring your child along to these activities, with your permission of course! (my son attends weekly swimming, karate and chess club)
If you’re looking for a childminder who is both flexible and family-minded, I’d love to have a chat and see how we can make things work together.
