About Me

Science is often seen as a challenging subject, but with the right guidance, it can become fascinating and accessible. As a science tutor, I bring not only a deep understanding of the subject but also years of teaching experience and a passion for helping students succeed. I hold a degree in Chemistry and a PGCE in chemistry, which have provided me with both the subject knowledge and pedagogical skills to teach effectively. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to break down complex concepts into simple, relatable explanations. Science involves intricate theories, formulas, and problem-solving skills, but I ensure that students grasp each topic by using clear explanations, real-world examples, and step-by-step problem-solving techniques.
I incorporate a range of effective teaching strategies to reinforce learning and enhance long-term retention. This includes:
Retrieval practice, which helps students strengthen their memory by regularly recalling key concepts.
Exam paper practice, where students apply their knowledge to real exam questions, improving their problem-solving skills and exam technique.
Active learning methods, such as questioning, discussions, and interactive tasks, to keep students engaged and deepen their understanding.
Patience and adaptability are key qualities of an effective tutor, and I pride myself on both. Every student learns differently, so I tailor my teaching approach to suit individual needs. Whether a student benefits from visual aids, hands-on practice, or conceptual discussions, I adjust my methods to ensure comprehension and retention.
