About Us
Smithfield House Children’s Nursery is a privately owned nursery within London’s square mile. Situated adjacent St Barts Hospital in West Smithfield, we are a 7000 square feet of purpose built nursery caring for children aged between 8 weeks – 5 years. We are open from 8am-6pm Monday-Friday. The nursery is closed on Bank Holidays and one week over the festive break at Christmas.
Smithfield House Children’s Nursery offers an excellent standard of Early Years Education in a nurturing and safe environment. Our ethos is to provide a happy balance between academic teaching and holistic learning in a playful, fun, and caring environment.

Our son went to the nursery two days a week for the last 8 months in preparation for starting in the reception class at his school. Janet, Julie, Shima and the rest of the team made us completely welcome and feel like part of an extended family, despite our son only attending part time. It's an extremely professional, highly welcoming place. Our son always looked forward to his days there. We were entirely happy with the care and range of activities and food provided, and we appreciated the daily feedback we received about his behaviour and development. There were also several occasions when our son's nanny was on holiday or ill, and we asked the nursery for additional days at short notice. We were very impressed by their flexibility in trying to accommodate us, which they were able to do on the vast majority of days when we asked for additional help. Overall, this is a fantastic nursery, centrally located and staffed by real professionals who our son loved spending time with.

I am now using Smithfield House for my second child. My family had a great experience first time around so I had no hesitation in contacting them again. Even although seven years have past since we were last there, it was lovely to be greeted as if I had only been away a couple of weeks! That same family feel and warm welcome was still there, it was like a big warm hug! My daughter who is 2.5 years zoomed into the room and settled instantly. The staff really do their homework to make sure that they had activities that my daughter likes and could talk about her big brother, so everything seemed familiar to my daughter. My son was so ready for school when he left and I have no doubt that my daughter will experience the same. I would recommend this nursery to everyone, they are truly amazing! They have added an App since I was last there which is great. I can see what my daughter has been doing, what she has eaten etc and I can contact her key-worker during the day if I need too, AMAZING!!!

My little one is attending Smithfield House Children Nursery since September. I have to say that after a very bad experience in the previous nursery I was very sceptical to find a good nursery for my 3 years old daughter.
But this is by far the BEST nursery ever!!!
All staff have a very caring nature and are approachable. Everyone at the Smithfield House Children Nursery from catering, to management, to staff everyone is providing such an excellent support for both children and parents.
This nursery is superb and I'm so pleased I chose this environment for my daughter. The staff and management are fantastic and they clearly love their jobs. The attention to detail and love that my daughter receives is so comforting to me that I would have no hesitation in recommending this nursery to friends and family.
The nursery is absolutely amazing. This is a real cocoon for the children, like a family!
Childcare, activities and communications with parents are top quality when you compare with other regular nurseries. It will be very tough for my daughter and I to leave this wonderful cocoon when time for the reception year comes.

My almost 4yo son spent a year at Smithfield house while his parents were studying in London. It is such a wonderful place, with the kindest and most loving staff in every position. He did not speak any English upon arrival but found it very easy to communicate from the first day and learned a lot of English throughout the year. The food was always good, variety of things to do and lot of creative playing with colours, shapes, drawings etc. For people working or studying in central London, the location is perfect and the facilities were always clean and up to the highest hygienic standards. Communication with staff was flawless and they took such good care of our son.

We couldn't be happier with our decision to enroll our children at Smithfield House Children's Nursery. From the moment they started attending at the ages of 3.8 and 1.2, our little ones settled in quickly. One aspect that truly sets the nursery apart is the dedication of its staff. The practitioners go above and beyond to organize interesting and engaging activities for the children on a daily basis, which fosters their skill development and sparks their interests. Our son has developed a deep bond with his carers and looks forward to going to the nursery every morning with pure enthusiasm.
