My Summary

My Experience

In the beginning I worked in a Private Nursery for three years where I gained my qualification. I worked full time and went to college once a month, sort of like an apprenticeship. This was a great experience because I was able to learn on the job while gaining my SVQ2 and SVQ3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development. I then went on to work as a Nanny for a year, looking after a 6-year-old boy. I loved this. It gave me so much independence and confidence. Unfortunately, the family moved location, so I decided to take this opportunity to work at a Summer Camp in Maine for 4 months. This was something completely different and it pushed me out of my comfort zone. Travelling became this huge part of me and it changed my life. I came home for 9 months, worked in another Private Nursery and then decided to go back to America and work as an Au Pair for a year. I lived with a family and looked after their three young children who were 3 months old, 3 and 5 when I first started. This opened up so many doors for me. After completing my year, I came home and I was a nanny again for two families, each with a one-year-old child. Again, I was able to grow as an individual. I looked after them for a year before going back to America for six months. Once back home I decided to focus on my career again. I went to college and done an Access to Nursing course before applying for university which I have now completed.

My Qualifications

I'm a Paediatric Nurse. I also have an SVQ2 and SVQ3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development. Before university I done a year at college, gaining an Advanced Certificate in Health and Social Care (Access to Nursing).
