About Me
Hi my name is Wendy Billington, and I am an Ofsted registered childminder. I am happily married to Ricky and we live on a small cul-de-sac in Altham west, with our 2 youngest children aged 15 and 24. Situated close to all surrounding areas Clayton, Accrington, Church etc.
There are large front and back gardens with all outdoor play equiptment, slides playhouse etc. The whole of the downstairs is used for childminding. The conservatory (playroom) is packed full of toys and educational resources to keep all children happy and having a lot of fun.
We go on regular outing including park trips, farm outings, activity centres etc. My main aim is to ensure all children in my care have a safe happy activity filled day, with lots of fun along the way.
The children enjoy doing various arts and crafts, painting, glitter art, animal designs, the list is endless. These creations then go into the childrens excellent files along with photographs and written detail with lots of information on their learning journey, these files then go home to parents at the end of their stay, and provide many precious memories of their childs early years.
Parents can view their own childs file at any time and even add to them if they wish.
Parents are welcome to come and chat and view the setting to see all that we have to offer. I am a very friendly easy going person and try to be as flexible on hours to meet the needs of parents. References can also be provided.

Before and after school care for Mount Pleasant School and School nursery.
I am able to offer the free 15 and 30 hour childcare to all eligible children. Please contact me for more details.
I can accept tax free children care and I have an account with the Childcare grant service for university students.
My Experience
As a mum of 4, a Nana and a childminder for 20 years I like to think I have experience with all age groups from Newborn to teens. The various courses I attend adds to this knowledge and enhances my setting. I enjoy learning new skills and always strive to better myself to be able to provide the best setting I can. Setting a good example to the children and being a positive role model is a very important factor in my home.
My Qualifications
I keep upto date with all relevant courses related to caring for children. I hold a current Paediatric First Aid certificate, Level 1+ 2 Safeguarding Children, Food Hygiene and many more.I also have a Level 3 NVQ in childcare, learning and development. I intend to keep gaining further training in the future.
EYFS training courses.
Various other courses have been attended to further improve my setting.
My Availability
I have 1 full time/part time vacancy which is available from September 2024. I offer before and after school care for children attending Mount Pleasant primary school. I can also offer the free funded places or all eligable chilren. Please feel free to contact me for further information.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
My fees are all inclusive, i do not charge extra for days out, meals etc. Very competitive prices for full and part time hours. Please feel free to contact me for further details.

Wendy has been childminding both my children for 16 months and has a vacancy due to my eldest starting school, i feel the need to write a little note to tell anybody looking for childcare to go and have a look at wendy's facilities and meet her in person. have a look at my childrens files that she has made, they are amazing! wendy spends a lot of time doing exciting activities and taking my children to play groups. they have come on leaps and bounds from being in wendy's care and its such a nice feeling to go to work knowing my children are safe and enjoying every minute of every day. its a lovelly family atmosphere in wendy's house and you will see instantly that she loves her job. Give her a call, you won't be dissapointed :)
