About Me

Hi, my name is Michelle.

I started Childminding 22 years ago to allow me to spend more time at home with my two beautiful girls,
Megan who is now 27 years old , and Amy who's 25years old both are registered as assistants to help out from time to time.
I previously worked as a care assistant & cook for the elderly.
I have been happily married to my husband, Ian for 28 years.
We live in nice quiet part of Springbourne, close to local amenities such as ,parks, beach, shops, library & Children's centre.
I enjoy the outdoors, animals, theatre & film, swimming, music, Arts & crafts, gardening & cooking,
I am hard working, fun loving, reliable, flexible to the needs of children and parents, organised and very experienced!
I am Ofsted registered to care for 6 children under 8 years of age.
I currently care for 3/4 under 5's the youngest at present is 9 months old also a small number of school children whose ages range from 5 - 6 years who attend during school holidays. I no longer provide school drop offs or pick ups.
My aim has always been to provide a loving, fun, healthy & educational, Home from Home setting where all children are treated with equal concern, free from discrimination and are encouraged to reach their full potential.
All children in my care are taught to have confidence in their abilities, to respect other's and use good manners and receive individual attention to their specific needs.
I was awarded "Childminder of the year' by Bournemouth council early years in 2017
and was extremely honoured to have received so many wonderful nominations and comments from parents past and present!

We have a large, fully enclosed garden with playhouses, slides, trampoline, ride-on toys, water play/sand play, bug hotel, wild flower garden, herb garden and frog pond also gardening/planting areas.
We also have an outdoor mud kitchen and hand wash station.
I have always focused on outdoor play and learning in the environment and since Corona virus this is now even more important!
I provide waterproof suits and aprons and have a large selection of boots in various sizes.
Wearing the right clothing for outdoor play is important and means we can benefit from fresh air and exercise in all weather.

Our spacious home provides a caring, safe and fun environment for all ages with a dedicated playroom providing a book corner, small world toys,dressing-up,Music, books, puppets, home-corner, puzzles & games.

Our pets include Coco the hamster, Dave & DJ our Guinea pigs we recently lost our beautiful dog Teddy but we will be welcoming a new puppy at some point in the future. The children all really miss having a dog here to play with and walk. It’s important for them to experience caring for animals.

Our Multi cultural society is celebrated through exploring our local environment, looking at books, cooking, music, crafts and puppets ect.

Many activities, resources and outings are provided for the children to learn
and develop through play and every day events and activities, such as,
Outdoor play, Arts & crafts,Sand & water play, Baking, Singing, Music making, Role-play & ICT.

Outings may include Farmer Palmer's,The Oceanarium, Moors Valley or New Forest Wildlife park to name but a few.
We also visit local children's centres, paddling pools, Library's, parks, soft play centres & of course our beautiful beaches!
We also take part in fundraising days and activities for Save the Children, The Book trust and Comic relief for example.

The children always get to experience a fun and educational day and make new friends of all ages and cultures.

I work with guidance from the EYFS and I positively welcome your input in planning for and sharing in your child's achievements.
I am happy for you to contact me for more information or to arrange a visit.
