My Summary
About Me
I am in 30's and have been caring for children of all ages for about 19 years.
To date I have worked as volunteer at a pre-school in Kettering. I have worked in Nursery's where I have built up a good connection with both children and staff. I have also volunteered at Thornton's Sure Start Centre in Kettering and I have worked as a Nanny.
I would like to inform anyone that is looking for childcare that I do not drive or have a driving license but I have worked in place's such as: Market Harborough, Loughborough, Hinckley, Burton Latimer, Wellingborough, Corby, Rushton, Northampton so as you can see I willing to travel.
I am flexible, sensible and reliable, also very easy to talk to. My friendly and empathetic personality and excellent listening skills allow me to look after and support the children under my care. I am a hardworking individual who is willing and motivated to learn. I am attending further training to enhance my career opportunities. I would like to put into practice the skills I have learnt, to the advantage of the company or family I work for.At this time my biggest achievement in life to date is completing and passing my QCF level 2 and 3 in Childcare.
My Experience
I have experience in working with special needs children. This requires lots of patience and understanding. I also have close family friends who I have lots of contact with, whose children are five and two. I also have fifteen Nieces and Nephews, and twenty-one Great Nieces and Nephews whose ages range from three weeks upwards!
Having previously worked with children and those with learning disabilities, I know the impact it has on their day and their development as well as making me feel like I have achieved something too. I find children a pleasure to work with and enjoy the interaction and rapport that we build together.
I have volunteer at a pre-school in Kettering and I have worked at different Nursery's as part of a team. I have good attendance and my time keeping is excellent.
I have a diverse approach to childcare I believe every child matters regardless of race, colour or religion. I currently support a children with learning disabilities. I regularly spend time on a one to one basis with a child providing care and completing fun activities with him. I thoroughly enjoy this responsibility and have a passion for supporting young people with learning difficulties as well as children with every day needs. I also have a good understanding of equality and this is evident in the way I work. I also have responsibility for two other children whilst I am caring for this child and can organise my time effectively to allow the highest level of care.
I believe in lifelong learning I would like to continually develop my skills & gain more qualifications within the child care industry. In the next 5 years I would like to have broadened my experiences in the Childcare industry and be able to share this with other. I have a good basic level of computer skills for using the internet, typing a basic document on Word, using Word tools such as spell checker and using e-mail

My ability to communicate with children and understand their needs will allow me to provide the best care and development possible. I am also passionate about working with children and so I will bring energy, commitment and drive.
I believe I am a good team member which means i can listen to and act on instruction, This demands good communication and regular updates on progress. This can happen at at daily handovers.

Keith has been an absolute godsend in the last 3 years he has worked for me and taken care of my 2 children after school. He is the most flexible and reliable nanny I have ever come across or worked with. He always arrived early, never let me down and never booked time off in term time when I needed him the most and not once did he phone in sick.
I could vary the hours he worked with not much notice, he would stay later if I needed to work late or if I was stuck in traffic. I could be totally relaxed knowing my children were well taken care of when I needed to work and focus or if I was held up for any reason.
Keith is very helpful in terms of adapting his approach to what we needed. He made sure he was implementing my rules - such as around screen time. He asked my daughter to do her homework and helped my son with his homework and reading after school which meant that it was one less thing for me to do when I got home and he could do it when he was less tired. He would do a range of creative activities with them and always be so generous and lovely - such as making special mothers day gifts with the children.
Keith cooked the children healthy dinners, made sure they had after school snacks and plenty of fluids. He would completely clean up after the meal, leaving the kitchen gleaming. When I got home from work, the kitchen looked great, the children would have been fed with homework done - which meant that we could just chill out and relax and spend time together, rather then me running around trying to get dinner cooked after a long day.
I know some people have reservations about hiring a male nanny, which is a shame. I have trusted him completely for 3 years with my (now 12 year old) daughter and my son (now 9). He is completely trustworthy.
Overall, Keith is a fantastic nanny. He's great with the kids, he is super-duper reliable and trustworthy and for me, having him looking after the children just took the pressure off completely so that I could focus on work when I needed to, and make the most of my time with the children when I came home. :)
