About Me

Hello, my name is Rachel.

I am a very caring and understanding person. I am highly reliable and can communicate effectively with both children and parents. I am extremely hard working and like to put in every effort I can, in order to achieve the highest level of quality care I can possibly give to children.

I have always wanted to care for children ever since I was young. This is due to being brought up with a big family.

I have worked as a Nursery Nurse for 9 years, a nanny for 2 years and experience as a childminder role doing school drop off/pick ups.

Having experienced all roles, I prefer and love the nanny role - the 'homely feel' approach. I believe children learn best when in their own environment and having fun! This leads to growing up to be happier, healthier and stronger. Through playing and being able to be in their own home environment, it captures the real happiness and helps develop their own abilities and capabilities by learning different experiences and overcome any challenges that may occur.
I will help guide and support children with anything they may struggle with and also give them continuous praise and encouragement for positive behaviour. I also believe children thrive in having fun and enjoying their experiences is the key point to bringing them up in a better world.

From here, I had a mini break away from childcare to challenge myself by experiencing a new role as a community home care worker. I worked in caring for 4 years. I have also 1-2 years experience in domestic cleaning and have built up lovely relationships with everyone I work with - I love meeting new people and going out for outings and do lots of exciting activities.

My hobbies are:
- Photography.
- Keeping fit (Running + home workouts).
- Reading - Used to run my own business as an independent Usborne book seller. I started this business in March 2023. I loved getting involved with local communities, meeting new people and more importantly get amazing books into children's hands.

I also run my own business in Childcare and cleaning called ? GROW&SHINE ? which I started this year and have done this since I qualified back in 2008. I hold a CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education - Level 3. I babysit for a variety of ages. Please do get in touch should you need any further information and assistance.

I have a full driving licence and have obtained this for 15+ years. I also have had first aid training, which will continue to update throughout my career.
