About Me

Hello my name is Karen, I’m a qualified, experienced, honest, proactive, energetic career nanny who loves what she does!

I really enjoy caring for children within a home environment with an emphasis on learning through play and everyday activities, even a walk to the supermarket can provide so many learning opportunities, such as colours of cars, the shapes all around us, sounds and smells, why we pay for things, different types of foods etc. I like to have a very balanced week of time at home playing, reading, singing, sensory activities and arts and crafts as well having daily fresh air come rain or shine, whether that’s a walk to the park, a ramble in the woods or a trip too a place of interest.

I like to cook from scratch for the children I care for; I provide a varied and balanced diet including lots of fruit and vegetables in keeping with the five a day, I like to cook dishes from all around the world so the children can explore different tastes and textures, once old enough I like to involve them in helping with the cooking.

Having good communication with the parents of the children in my care allows us to ensure that everything runs smoothly. I like to send messages during the day with updates of what the children have been doing, sometimes with pictures to help keep parents up to date with what their little ones are up to as well as keeping a daily diary.

I’m very flexible and am always happy to help around the house, I’m a very organised and tidy person so will always make sure your house is tidy at the end of the day.
