My Summary
St Albans
About Me
I am an Ofsted registered childminder ( since 2009)
I live in Parkstreet St.Albans. I provide a safe, friendly, homely and welcoming place for all children.
I provide lots of activities and outings to suit different ages and abilities, while working in line with EYFS curriculum.
I have a labradoodle called Fudge that has been around children of all ages and new to our home is a miniature Dachshund called Daisy.
My Experience
I have 3 adult children all of whom have their own families now. So that means I have now got 7 wonderful grandchildren that move in at the weekends!! so I rarely have a child free day but I wouldn't have it any other way.
My earlier career was in elderly care. I am very much a people person and I get great satisfaction from knowing I can help and care for others and to see children develop and gain confidence with a little help from me is just fantastic
Every child that attends my setting is given every opportunity to thrive and meet their full potential.
I can cater for special diets following discussion with parents.
My Qualifications
I am always attending updates and essential training sessions to expand my knowledge, additional training to ensure that I meet the needs of the children and support their development.
I have attained a level 3 CYPW diploma, since becoming a childminder and I am always keen to learn so that the service I provide for the children and their parents continues to improve.
My Availability
I currently have a space on Weds and Thursdays and could possibly do a Monday if 3 days childcare is needed by someone.
Updated Jan 2025- Due to a family moving to another town, I will have a vacancy on a Mon, Tue, Weds and Thur from March 2025
I will have more space later this year due to a child moving on to new adventures at school.
So do get in touch if you need childcare or would like more information.

Carol has had and continues to look after both my children, she had my son from 9months old when I returned to work, he is now nearly 8 and still loves to go back to Carol during the school holidays alongside his sister who is now 5. Carol has always gone above and beyond to get to know both of my children, their likes and interests and incorporates this into the wonderful activities she offers. They regularly enjoy days out to Willows farm, Whipsinade Zoo, London museums and many more. I trust Carol whole heartedly as she has always made us feel welcome, cared for and supported.

Our 2.5 year old daughter has been with Carol three days per week for almost a year now and is very happy and settled. Carol takes the children out on various day trips as well as quieter days at home. Carol is always kind and understanding and we have been really pleased with how our daughter settled into her care. Carol has been able to accommodate our daughter’s dairy allergy too without any problems which is a weight off our mind too.

I’m a teacher and do not trust many people to look after my children. However Carol was the exception and I’m so glad I did. My little one loved every second spent with her and the progress in both his confidence and development was incredible.
I initially met Carol at a local play group with my older boy and it took me 3 months to realise she was childminding the children she was with. The relationship they displayed was similar to a grandmother and grand children. She was extremely attentive and caring. When uncertain the children would curl up on her lap in a big hug and she would gently encourage them to play when they were ready. The children were keen for her attention which she gave in abundance, making certain they were her priority.
My little one made so many fantastic memories with her, which he still talks about. She would take him on day trips to the farm or zoo, music lessons and walks around the local area to explore. I enjoyed the updates she would send so I could see what adventures they were on.
Carol would happily listen to any of our worries about my son’s development and medical condition. She would offer advice and strategies we could use together and would evaluate how these were working. It felt like a partnership raising our son and we all miss her terribly.
They say people come into your life for a reason and we certainly felt like this with Carol. Your little one’s life will certainly be enhanced with Carol as a part of it, in fact your whole family’s will be.

Both of my boys went to Carol, they were 5 and 3 when they started at the setting. My eldest is now 11 and at secondary school and no longer goes, but my youngest is still with Carol and is now 10. She truly is a part of the family and has been so caring and helpful over the years. She has played a big part in their early years and has a special bond with both of them. They have always had fun and looked forward to spending time with Carol. Can’t recommend her highly enough.
