My Summary
About Me
I am Clare Allen, I live on a quiet residential area in Wigston, with my husband and three children, aged 23, 19 and 15. We have 3 pet cats. We are a non-smoking home.
I am a TERM TIME only childminder and I love my job! I have a consistent Ofsted inspection grading as GOOD last inspection Nov 2022.
I love working with children, helping them grow in confidence and achieve through exploring the world around them. I meet up with 2 other childminders at least 3 days a week giving the children a larger social circle.
I have a large family friendly home in a quiet Close with a wide selection of resources including a good sized garden. I offer daily outdoor learning opportunities, visiting Brocks Hill Country Park, Mini Meadow Farm Park (Welford), Botanic gardens in Oadby and our allotment. We occasionally take trips to the Museum.
I share a child friendly allotment alongside 2 other experienced childminders, Claire Mason and Sally Morris. We have a growing/vegetable area, a mud kitchen, a digging area, stones, shells, loose parts, mark making resources, sensory herb garden and a Den. I look forward to meeting you and your child .

Clare has looked after both our children from 1 year of age and into after school care. They have both flourished and thrived under her care and love spending time with her! Clare is extremely professional, thoughtful and establishes an effective parent-childmider relationship, working collaboratively to best support our children. It is evident that Clare keeps up to date with current practices and applies her knowledge in a nurturing
fun and engaging way, identifying the next steps in our childrens' development. The variety of activities (particularly outdoor enrichment) have enabled our children to progress in a safe and happy environment! Her setting is fantastic!
Clare has provided both of our children with an extremely high quality of care. She offers a very engaging and stimulating range of learning experiences for those she looks after. From creative literacy and numeracy activities to outdoor visits and experiences, children always come home excited by what they have been doing. There is a strong focus on learning social skills and how to interact well with others.
As a parent I always felt certain that our children would be safe with Clare. She places high value on the importance of health and safety in caring for them. Equally, she helps children to develop their own understanding of how to play, eat and behave in ways that are healthy.
Clare has an incredible way of relating to children in a way that helps them to feel secure, relaxed and comfortable. They feel very much at home with her and this helps them to grow and develop in her care.
Another aspect of the Clare’s work that we really appreciated is her flexibility and willingness to work with parents to adapt her plans to fit with our needs. This was really appreciated on many occasions.
I highly recommend Clare for provision of child care which is way above average.
My son started with Clare nearly a year ago just after his first birthday.
I am very happy as he is looked after very well and has a very active day occupied with a wide range of activities. My son really enjoys going to the allotment and has so much fun. I feel he has progressed a lot in this time and has an excellent relationship with Clare.
She genuinely cares for all her children and has their needs at heart.
We feel so very lucky to have Clare as our childminder.
Clare looked after my 9 year old daughter full time from the age of 3 and provided before and after care from 4 until this last term. I always had complete peace of mind when my daughter was in Clare's care. She is extremely professional yet also genuinely loving and caring with all the children of different ages. She goes the extra mile to not just look after the children but also to teach them, give them different experiences and encourages their own individual personalities. I would strongly recommend Clare to take care of children of any age and truly feel she is worth every penny.
Clare is simply an awesome childminder! She’s warm, kind, patient, caring, nurturing, and really engages with the children she cares for. She is creative with her activities & tailors them to the child’s interests.
She gave my little girl the very best start and taught her so much! I never once worried about her whilst I was at work and had 100% peace of mind that she was in very safe hands with Clare.
She constantly keeps her skills up-to-date and attends lots of courses so she can provide the best care possible. I would not hesitate to recommend Clare - she’s the best! 😊
