My Summary
About Me
Welcome to Joanne's Place - an ** O U T S T A N D I N G * Ofsted registered childcare setting run by myself, Jo Talbot.I have been childminding for over 16 years and have been awarded my outstanding grade 4 times now which I am hugely proud of!!! I live with my husband Pete and our 20 year old son in a 3 bedroomed semi detached house with a large enclosed garden in Aylesbury. We have 2 Cavalier Kings Charles Spaniel’s called Molly and Tilly who are 7 and 11 years old. They are absolutely adored by all the children, and vice versa ! I gave up work full time in 2002 to become a mummy and then decided that it would be very rewarding to look after other peoples children whilst looking after my own son too!! I provide a warm, loving and secure environment in which children can learn and develop. We have a huge range of toys and resources for all ages/stages of children's development. The children enjoy a wide variety of activities, both indoors and outdoors together with regular trips out in the community. The children I look after have become part of the family and really enjoy coming to our home everyday.
My Experience
I became a registered childminder with Ofsted in 2006 and have completed a CRB check. The children I care for come to me as babies and leave when they start pre-school/big school. It has been lovely to watch them grow and develop from the babies they once were into the lively toddlers/pre-school children they now are. I am very proud of the positive working relationships I have with their parents too.
My Qualifications
I have completed an "Introduction to Childcare Practice" course, I am First Aid qualified, I have a Level 2 in Food Safety in Catering, Child protection/ Safeguarding children, "Introduction to EYFS" and NVQ Level 3 in Childrens Care, Learning and Development plus many others! I have been awarded OUTSTANDING grades from Ofsted for my last 4 inspections which I am hugely proud of!
I belong to a "Children Come First Quality Assurance Network" which means that I am an Accredited Childminder. I am able to offer eligible children (mostly 3/4 year olds, and some 2 years olds) 15 hours of early education funding per week, much the same as they would have at a pre-school/nursery. I am also able to provide 30 hours of early education funding for those parents who are eligible.
My Availability
I have spaces available for an under 1 and under 5 year old too.
I do not drop off or pick up from any primary schools sorry .

Our son has been going to Jo's for just over a year now & as parents we couldn't be happier, both how well he settled in to begin with & how much he continues to enjoy every day he spends with Jo, her family & the other children that she looks after, not to mention Molly the dog who he absolutely loves. He often talks about Jo & the other children on the days he's not there & says 'hooray' when he arrives at Jo's in the morning, which for us is as glowing an endorsement as you might get from a 1 year old.
We first got in touch with Jo when our son was 9 months old & the idea of leaving our baby with someone else was something we both found difficult, however any reservations we had soon disappeared as she immediately put us at ease while our son felt quite at home in Jo's house in no time at all.
Jo's communication with us as parents is excellent, whether through daily updates, photos or her regular newsletters, all of which ensure that we're kept well informed of our son's progress & it's clear that she takes his wellbeing & development just as seriously as we do. We feel that Jo provides just the right balance between routine - important for any young child - and variety, with plenty of stimulating activities such as cooking, outings, crafts & and excellent range of different toys & games.
In addition our son loves Jo's tasty & healthy home cooked food ,so much so that we often find ourselves commenting that we'd rather have had what Jo was cooking for dinner instead of what we've planned for ourselves!
We have no doubt that the Outsdanding rating from Ofsted is a fair reflection of the standard of childcare that Jo provides & we wouldn't hesitate in recommending her to anyone that's weighing up their options for the care of their child.
My daughter has been with Jo since she was 6months old (she is now 3yrs 4months). I am so pleased to have found Jo when we began our childcare search. Since our first meeting Jo was more concerned with getting to know our daughter, and we are so pleased.
Our daughter quickly became part of the family, which was hugely important to us, and made settling in (both for mummy and baby) much easier and smoother. We have gone through weaning, teething, crawling, walking, talking and potty training together and my daughter has received consistent care & routine though our relationship and excellent communication with Jo.
Jo has worked closely with us through every stage of our daughters up bringing and development, and we believe she had greatly benefited from having Jo and her family in her life. She looks forward to Jo's everyday and spending time with her family (espesh her son -- who she loves dearly).
Jo has been a great childminder and we have been so very lucky to find her, my daughter has a great appetite - partly down to Jo's amazing cooking, and exceptional menu. Jo keeps our daughter stimulated with activities throughout the day including trips out, craft, role play game, cooking, outdoor play and quiet time.
We are often complemented on how well behaved and well mannered our daughter is, something Jo believes strongly in as do we.
I could go on forever on how great Jo, her family and her environment is, but would suggest you meet her and make you own decision (you won't be disappointed)
