About Me

My name is Sakina Bi and I am an Ofsted registered childminder. At my house I have 2 daughters one aged 34 who is a Primary school teacher, and an 28 yr old who is training to be a Sports advocate. I also have two sons aged 22 and
20. During the day my husband and kids are at school or work. All members of my family are CBR checked.
I have cared for the children in my family including siblings for over 25 years, and in doing so realised the comfort and reward I feel when I am around them. This is what prompted me to take up childcare in my own home. I have always had employment roles which had the care of the children in mind. Such as I was a community parent and my role was to educate parents on the advantages of nutrition in freshly prepared meals for their toddlers. I was also a toy library assistant and am currently working with MENCAP where I support special need children.
i am also registered witth EEE funding for 2 and 3 year olds
My aim as a Childminder is to provide a safe, fun and loving environment for the children in my care. My everyday activities will typically include arts and crafts, baking, creative play and outdoor activities e.g., parks, stay and plays etc.
I am also available in the evenings specifically for children with special needs, in order to let parents enjoy evenings out. I have been working with children with complex needs and autism children for three years, and believe that your children will feel safe and loved in my care. I have am fully trained to care for these children.
I believe it is important to build good partnerships with parents and carers, to give the best childcare your child needs to reach their greatest potential.

My Experience

Since completing my btech first diploma in caring I have worked with health visitors and advised parents on different issues regarding their newborns and toddlers.
I was a toy library assistant at children’s centre where we loaned parents age appropriate toys. I then moved on to take on the role of a family support worker for families whom needed help with issues regarding parenthood an example of this would vary from something like weaning difficulties to issues as sensitive as post natal depression.
For the last 3 years I have been working at Short Breaks Services at Mencap, I have supported children and young people aged 8 - 18 with learning disabilities and complex health needs within a youth group setting, on a 1:1 basis. Some of these sessions have taken place in a set base, where I have enabled the children to take place in various activities of their choice, such as music sessions, sports activities and pamper sessions to name just a few. Externally I support the children to access local parks, cultural events, local shopping areas, museums, cinemas and theatres, and I am always seeking new information about forthcoming events, and through consulting with the children, am always able to support them to access activities of their own choice.
Some of the children I support have very limited or no verbal communication, and it is extremely important that I discover how to best support the young person through following person centred plans and any specific communication methods such, such as Makaton which I have some knowledge of.
I have received individual training to feed named children through a nasal gastric tube, and would be willing to support other children following individual training.

I was first introduced to Sakina after coming across her profile on here. I was starting a new job, and was extremely apprehensive about leaving my young child in the care of yet another stranger (my previous childminder was a nightmare, to say the least).

Since using Sakina's childcare services; we've built up trust and have an understanding of what is expected from each other.

She's amazing and I 100% recommend her. She has a kind heart and the children love her!

Sakina: thank you for everything that you've done for us. You've gone above and beyond to accommodate us.
