About Me
Sunbeams Registered Childminder.... I have lived in Prestatyn for 28 years, and have three grown up children. I am a Nana to three lovely grandchildren aged 13, 9 and 7 who all attend my setting. I was brought up in New Zealand, where I worked for Social Services for 8 years, but am now settled in North Wales, and have been childminding since 1998. Our weekends are usually spent dog showing/training, as we have three dogs - they are child friendly, but have their separate area kennels outdoors as required by CIW.
I like to take the children out every day, either for walks to the beach, or the fields, and the playground, all of which are local and within walking distance.
My setting is a home from home environment.
I have plenty of toys for the children to play with, and we do craft activities such as colouring and painting, baking, play doh, water play, etc, I read books with the children, and sing songs, to name but a few!
My Experience
My experience is as a Mum of three, now a grandmother of three, and looking after other people's children of all ages, from 9 weeks upwards, for the past 27 years. All my training is kept up-to-date, Safeguarding every 2 years, and Paediatric First Aid every 3 years. I am inspected by CIW every three years. Parents comments are available to view in my Quality of Care reports, and Inspection Reports are also available.
My Qualifications
I have the NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care & Education, and have completed courses Introducing Childminding Practice, and Developing Childminding Practice. I have also completed training for Community Childminding, and am up to date with Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene Award Level 2, Child Protection, and have been a member of the National Childminding Association Flying Start Network. Both my youngest daughter who lives at home and myself have up-to-date DBS checks.
My Availability
I am registered to care for 8 children up to age 12. I accept childcare vouchers, the 3-4 year old free childcare funding, and tax free. I can drop off and collect from Ysgol Penmorfa.
