My Summary
About Me
Hi Mums & Dads,
My name is Ena, I am Irish and have been living in London since June 2012. I am currently living in Welwyn.
I am a very enthusiastic, trustworthy, outgoing and a positive individual who believes in co-operating with parents on all levels when taking care of their children.
I love to look after children and understand the huge responsibility that goes with it.
When it comes to cooking and eating, healthy food is something that really interests me. I like to prepare and cook fresh food. I truly believe that children should eat a healthy balanced diet in order for them to grow and develop in the way they should.
My Experience
I started my job as an Nanny during my summer holidays when I was in school. I was 15 at the time and continued working with the same family for two years. I had the opportunity to care for two young children with Autism. This is where my passion for childcare began and where I learned new skills which is beneficial when caring for a child with a disability.
I have been a babysitter for a number of years also looking after children of local families in my area.
Before I moved to the UK my sister had a baby boy, he is now 7 years old. For his first two years I moved in with her to help care for him continually. I helped change nappies, helped with feeding, bathing, sleeping routine and interacted and played with him so he was a happy chappy.
I have lived in East London since 2012 where I have worked as a full time Nanny for a local family for 5 years. I provided the children with the best care possible, making sure they were safe at all times while having fun, being confident and happy. I enjoyed helping the children with their homework and learned different strategies to entice them to get the work done. During summer holidays I also looked after their two best friends, taking all four children into the city to visit museums, go on the London eye or visit Madame Tussaud's. I had the opportunity to travel with the family to America to look after the children while mum was working. I really enjoyed working with the family and feel I will always have a special bond with the children.
I have also gained valuable experience working as a Teaching Assistant in an independant primary school in South Woodford for 2 years while completing a level 3 teaching assistant course. I helped to teach children from year 1 up to year 5 while also helping out in the art department. It was a varied role which I really enjoyed.
