About Me
My name is Katie and I am an Ofsted registered childminder. I live with my husband Chris who is a paramedic, my mum who is a nurse and our three daughters who are aged 8, 6 and 3.
I have been a registered childminder since March 2009.
We live in a detached house in the lovely village of Weston, I have a separate playroom and garden. In our spare time we enjoy going for walks and trips to the park and going swimming together.
We do lots of fun activities throughout the week such as visiting toddler groups, childrens centres, the library, the park and go on outings to farms and the zoo on special trips.
My Experience
I have worked as a childminder since August 09 and I have looked after children between the ages of 12 weeks to 12 years. I provide a safe and stimulating environment for young children and enjoy providing exciting activities to help them grow, develop and have fun! Activities are planned around children's own interests and I record their progress in an individual learning journey which is shared with parents on a regular basis.
Having had my own daughters I have lots of experience with young babies and toddlers and lots of equipment for them too!
Before having my own children I worked in a nursery and as a Teaching Assistant in primary schools working with children and supporting children with special needs. In particular children with hearing impairments, using British Sign Language which I now enjoy teaching children in my home and has been a fantastic way of improving their communication skills.
I also look after school age children before and after school and have lots of resources for them such as craft, reading books, wii, small world toys, construction, play dough, dressing up clothes, action figures to name a few! We do lots of fun activities together such as baking, craft, science experiments, treasure hunts and talent shows.

A very caring person who is extremely professional in her approach to her job. katie undersatnds children, is very patient with them and knows how to bring the best out of them.
