30 years educational experience. Amazing references. I am an Outstanding registered Childminder based in Slip End near Harpenden , I have 2 amazing assistants Bo and Alice who are fully DBS checked, trained and first aid trained.
I have a fabulous large well equipped setting with a fantastic playroom and rear garden with mud kitchen, climbing area and nature/sensory garden. I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and provide exciting activities and opportunities for play in a nurturing, friendly home environment. We communicate extensively with parents to ensure everyone is happy and secure. From WhatsApp Daily diaries for each child and Babiesdays app .
I have 32 years childcare experience and have many early years’ qualifications and training.
I was a Nanny for 15 years, plus mothers help then Nursery Nurse at Roundwood Primary School in 2001-2003.
I’ve been childminding for 11 years.

Everyday I provide a full, rich and stimulating environment for the children in my care, following the EYFS with regular updates for parents using The BabysDays App . With the younger children I care for we visit toddler groups, Woodside animal farm, park and library. I provide messy activities, baking, outdoor play and music sessions. My meals and snacks are well balanced, healthy and mainly home cooked from scratch We have baby chicks, Guinea pigs and a cat. Children love coming to The Nurture Nest and some ask to come everyday !

Catherine provides the best childcare. Our daughter was welcomed into the setting, given time to settle in. Catherine planned each day full of activities for creative learning and exploring . Our daughter looked forward to going each day, lots of experiences for her to enjoy. Catherine kept us updated on her development through tapestry also with lots of pictures and videos uploaded so we could see the fun our daughter had.
Catherine also made extra efforts to learn sign language and incorporated this into her daily routine with our daughter to support her development as our daughter is deaf. Catherine also made extra effort to incorporate different ways to communicate through play,signs,songs.
Our daughter thrived and grew in experience and confidence.
Catherine is diligent, professional, very experienced with children and most of all caring, with a welcoming family and environment.

Thanks Catherine for taking my little one in at the last minute when I was desperately seeking child care for my daughter. She was only 9 months when she came to you and was only used to mummy.
You made her feel very welcome and she warmed to your family quite quickly. She was kept busy with days out and classes and a variety of activities at home. You always made sure she was healthy, happy and active!
I will always be grateful for the wonderful care you provided and your flexibility.
