About Me
Hello my name is Sarah-Jane Turner most people call me Sarah.
I except 2, 3 and 4 year old funding and childcare vouchers. I will also be accepting the from 9 month funding when it comes in.
I am a fully qualified childcare provider with 23 years experience. I am registered with Ofsted,, I am graded Good and was nominated by a member of Derbyshire early years for National childminder of the year 2008 and won.
I have four children two girls aged 27 and 24 and twin boys aged 20 I live in Unstone I am on the bus route to chesterfield and Sheffield. I have a enclosed back garden with chickens and ducks. I have parks nearby within easy walking distance and I also take the children to the local farm to see the animals, Chatsworth, Longshaw and other local places
I meet regularly with other childminders, have trips out, attend toddler groups and locally run activities at the library and churches. I have good relationships with the local , pre-schools and schools in the area. When we are a home we spend a lot of time outside, we have fun doing crafts, singing, baking, gardening, stories or just playing. I have quite areas and areas for sleeping. I offer fresh home-made meals and snacks.
I care for children from 0 months to 5 years I am a qualified Senco, who works with Derbyshire Ey sen teachers with experience of living and working with children with Autism, Adhd and communication difficulties.
My Experience
I have been a registered childminder for 23 years, i have an Ofsted grading of Good and I was voted Childminder of the year 2008.
Within the last 23 years gained a lot of experience within the childcare profession I have seen the changes from childcare being overseen by Social Services to Ofsted the changes in government legislation and have had to keep myself up-to-date and make changes in accordance to this.
As a parent of four I understand what a big decision it is to place your child/children in the care of a stranger and how busy and hard it is organising work, home and children. So when people chose to send there children to me I feel honored that they trust me and want me to be part of the most important person in there lives. I have lots of references and contact details of past and present children in my care.
I am a qualified level 3 Senco and I have experience with children with sen - autism, allergies, adhd, peg fed, epilepsy, asthma, development delay, arfid, communication difficulties, anxiety. Two of my own older children have asd, adhd so plenty of first hand experience I have also cared for numerous children with the above difficulties and also have provided respite care for families.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
£6.50 an hour, this includes all activities, trips out, toddler groups, all activities, meals, and snacks.
FUNDED PLACES - term time only offered following derbyshire funded dates -
from 9 months and 2 year funding, no extra charges for funded hours breakfast, lunch snacks trips, and all activities included.

Sarah has been caring for my son since he was four months old. It was extremely nerve wracking to leave him and I was very anxious to do but Sarah’s warm, gentle and compassionate demeanour made me feel so at ease.
My little boy loves going to Sarah’s and he always smiles at her front door when I drop him off and when he is able to talk I can’t wait to hear him tell me about all the fun he has.
Spending time with other children has really helped his social development - he is so happy, smiley and social.
Sarah has been ever so accommodating with hours etc as I work shifts so I often needed extra ad hoc hours and wherever she could she accommodated.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Sarah. She has made such a difference to our families life.

My daughter has been with Sarah for just under a year and within the past 12 months she has gone from being very clingy and insecure around other children (and some adults) to being confident and bright and the star of the show! (she always behaved like this with me but never elsewhere) Sarah made her feel loved, supported and that she was capable of anything! She has helped my daughter grow in ways that I didn’t think possible and we’re all really sad to be moving away. Sarah has also been a massive support to me as well and helped me with my anxiety about leaving my daughter with someone else and has supported me in more ways than I can explain. If you’re unsure where to send your child I cannot recommend Sarah enough. She is a wonderful person and a wonderful childminder!
