Starting the process of looking for childcare was something I was very nervous about, just not convinced we would find the right person or setting for our daughter. My husband and I looked around a few different settings, not feeling overly happy with any of them, until we found Byrony! On our first visit she was straight down on the floor with our daughter, interacting with her, and they seemed to take a shine to each other straight away which was lovely to see. After our visit we knew that Byrony and her setting would be the right place and we soon started settling-in sessions.
Our daughter had a great time whilst in Byrony’s care, learning a lot and growing in confidence. She experienced lots of fun and interesting things, such as going to the allotment where she would help to plant, dig and learn about the environment. What I love about Byrony and her setting is the magic she adds to the every day, whether that is out on school/pre-school runs or just playing in the garden - everything is made fun whilst often being an opportunity for learning.
As a parent I found little things like the way Byrony teaches the kids to put on their coats independently (‘flip flop, over the top’), how to do zips (‘put the train in the station’) and the washing hands song really useful and things we added to our every day too. If advice or guidance is ever needed Byrony is always on hand to help out!
We appreciated the daily log that is sent back after a day in Byrony’s care, detailing useful information such as food, sleep, toileting and activities. It was always lovely to learn when our daughter had particularly enjoyed an activity or learned something new!
As a washable nappy family, we really appreciated that Byrony was happy to use these whilst our daughter was in her care. Byrony also played a big part in helping with potty training, right from the first few days through until when our daughter was confidently in pants.
Our daughter attended Byrony’s setting for over two years and still talks fondly of her time there with Byrony, the Telford family, Grandma Judy and her friends there. We will definitely be keeping in touch and going for visits!
Thanks a million Byrony!
My daughter has unfortunately had her last day today with Byrony as she is due to start school after the holidays... And we are sad to be leaving this lovely childminder.
We have nothing but praise for byrony, she truly is a lovely lady and fantastic at her job as a childminder.
She genuinely cares about the children and is so easy to talk to should you have any worries, nothing is a problem.
Our daughter loved going and always had fun.
We shall really miss byrony and would recommend her without any hesitation.
We were looking for a gentle home from home childminders for our daughter and hit the 'jackpot' with Byrony. She has a child - led ,gentle approach and our daughter has progressed in leaps and bounds. She does a variety of activities both indoors and out, including attending the allotment, going on nature walks as well as painting and creative tasks. We receive daily feedback and Byrony is approachable and friendly. Would highly recommend.
