About Me
** Space available from April***
Hi my name is Emma Monteith I'm an Ofsted Registered Childminder based in the Vicars Cross Chester. I live with my partner and our 3 Children. My most recent Ofsted grading is Good in all areas. I currently work with 2 assistants on different days which is really benefiting the children we care for. We are able to provide more 1:1 time.
I use the whole of my down stairs for childminding, this comprises of a living room that we use for sleeping and calming down time. Playroom that has a bubble tube, lots of natural resources as well as a play kitchen and other toys. Kitchen that we use for messy play, cooking and eating. I have a down stairs toilet which is great when it comes to potty training. I have a secure back garden which backs onto the canal so lots of trees which is great for squirrels and bird watching. We have a mud kitchen, sand and water as well as a fairy garden We also grow fruit and vegetables in the spring and summer.
I am a home from home setting and children enjoy going along to the local butchers and vegetable shop to help pick snack and being part of the local community. I tend to be out most morning at playgroups we also attend regular outings such as the fire station, cathedral, farms, the zoo and woods.
My Experience
I have been childminding since 2013 and thoroughly enjoy every moment. Many of the children I currently care for have been with me since I registered and its been a pleasure to watch and help them grow into the happy and kind children they are. I have experience with looking after children from newborn right up to 12 yr olds. I also have experience looking after children with SEND in particular speech and language delay.
I have recently completed my level 4 Makaton training and we now implement it throughout the setting. Its a great way to communicate and enhances all children's speech.
My Qualifications
I hold an up to date Paediatric First Aid certificate.
I have completed the Introduction to Childcare Course.
Degree in Childhood, welfare and Education
EYSENCO- Level 3
I have also attended safeguarding children workshops, I also attend regular childcare briefings with the Local Authority Early Years Team

Our daughter has been going to Emma a while now and she is absolutely thriving! Emma always takes the time to update us with pictures and progress in her development. Each week we notice a little something new she is doing and her confidence is growing well too! I'm so glad we chose Emma and would recommend her highly.

My son (at the time was around 19months old) was weary at first as Emma would be his next childminder to having spent previous 2 months with me constantly and with another childminder previously for at least 6 months. But Emma was chatty to him and engaging him with the other children that were there on his meet with her and he seemed ok.
Like most children, he cried the first day and the next day when i left him with Emma. But she sent me messages and pictures on how he was getting on etc. He settled in quite quick, and with Emma being young minded, always kept him entertained or engaged in activities to distract his little upsets.
He is still with Emma and he loves going to her as he also has made friends with the other kids and i feel so at ease knowing that he is in safe hands and in a happy and fun environment.
I would highly recommend Emma, shes down to earth, has a good sense of humour, she just acts like a kid with the other kids! which is why i think my son doesnt want to come home sometimes!
