About Me
Hello, my name is Maria and I am an Ofsted registered and qualified childminder working alongside my husband Nick. In February 2019 we were rated OUTSTANDING by Ofsted. We have been married for 31 years and have 6 children and 1 grandchild. All of our children are now working.
We love working with children and provide an enriching enviroment, offering plenty of attention, stimulating activities including craft, water and sand play, construction, messy play, cooking and lots of role play opportunities. We have a safe and secure garden dedicated to meet the needs of the children. Living near the woods, country parks and Hartswood also provides lots of field trips to burn off energy and explore. We regularly visit Barleylands farm, library and soft play.
We always endeavour to form a secure bond with every child and work in partnership with parents/carers. We have friendly dogs which have limited and strictly supervised time with the pre school children, but the children all love them and the parents often comment on how pleased they are that we have pets. (Did I mention the soppy cats too)
We are based in the Warley area of Brentwood and offer the before and after school childminding service for children who attend St Helen's Infants and Junior school. We will start at 7:30am and finish at 5:30 Monday to Thursdays. We live in walking distance from Brentwood station.
My Experience
I have previously managed a local preschool where l was also the safeguarding officer. I have experience working with children who have additional needs and IEPs.
We have sound understanding of delivering the EYFS always aiming to feed a child's enthusiasm to make sense of their world and gain social skills as well as academic ones..... I take every chance to enhance their outcomes.
My husband Nick has undertaken Safeguarding training and holds a Paediatric First Aid Certificate. He completes various online training courses. Being a father of 6 he certainly has sound knowledge of children .
We both regularly complete E-Learning courses on various topics regarding children and learning.

Cache level 2 - Working with under 5's

Paediatric First Aid
Level 4 - Safeguarding
Diploma - Setting up a Homebased childcare service.
Cache Level 2 Understanding Common Childhood illnesses

Cache Level 2 in Understanding Autism
We have attended numerous other courses that support working with children and keep up to date using online training.
My Availability
Monday to Thursday from 7:30am to 5:30 school holidays except for two weeks during summer holidays , 24th Dec to 1st jan inclusive and 1 week off during Easter holidays.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
Before and after school Childminding service is £6.50 per hr including breakfast, snacks and drinks. For £3 per day a meal is offered after school.
Full day sessions are £65 per day (10 hours) including snacks and evening meal. All day children are asked to provide own packed lunch. We accept FEEE funding
