Hello everyone
My name is Donna Gladwin and I am a Ofsted Registered childminder and have been for the past 17 years.
However I have worked as a childcare professional for the past 27 years.
I live with my wonderful husband of 20 years and we have three wonderful children aged 18, 14 and 11 years.
I live in Southend (southchurch area) and currently pick up from Greenways school.
My Experience
I have been working in the childcare profession for the past 27 years. During this time I have worked as a youth worker, private nanny, nursery nurse, learning support assistant, children's holiday rep, and now a childminder.
I chose to become a childminder so that I could still work in the profession that I love as well as looking after my own children.
I work within the Early Years Foundation Stage frame work, so that all the children learn and develop at their own starting points. I provide rich opportunities from both adult led and child led activities as well as out and about experiences, such as toddler groups, library, parks, woods, seaside, farms, gym, play centers, other childminders etc. This is so children have a range of different experiences and learning opportunities whilst having lots of fun!
My Qualifications
I am a qualified nursery nurse(NVQ level 3), I am pediatric first aid trained as is my husband. I hold a food hygiene certificate level two, safe guarding level 4 as well as many other childcare qualifications that enable me to do my job professionally. I am also CRB checked as is my husband.

Donna started looking after our son when he was 8 months old and I went back to work after maternity leave. I chose Donna because of the love and care she shows the children in her setting.
Our son, her Prince, has thrived in her care and the regular reports she sends us shows how much progress he has made with his language, physical, social and emotional development. She also provides us with daily updates with lots of photos so we know ‘what he has done today’ as well as a food and nappy diary. It’s so reassuring to see our son having a fantastic time with Donna.
Donna’s setting is like a home from home. She spend a lot of time outside; at the park, feeding the ducks, at the beach and walking in the woods. The activities she does with our son at home are creative and fun. From painting, colouring, playing with toys to dancing around the living room. Every time I collect him from Donna’s I can always hear laughter - what more could you ask for!
Donna has become more than a childminder to us, she has become part of our family.
