My Summary
About Me
Hi my name is Vicky, I'm from Horsham and I have been a registered childminder since March 2013. I hold a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification and I am Ofsted rated GOOD.
I live with my husband and our 2 young daughters.
I live in North Horsham in a spacious house with a secure garden which is has artificial grass laid so we can go out in all weathers!
We have a cat and a small Jackchi (jack russel x chihuahua) who absolutely adores the children and loves a snuggle (when he's not stealing socks from the laundry!) So animal lovers are a must!
Please get in touch if you'd like more information.
My Experience
I have been qualified and registered since March 2013 and have been looking after children since May 2013.
I have access to lots of toys, including musical instruments and situational play equipment (e.g. a play kitchen etc.)
I have a passion for crafts, so love making things and love getting children involved with everything from collage making, to baking cupcakes and even messy play at home!
Weather permitting I always like to go outside at least once a day, whether this is to the little play area near me, or a walk in the woods, or just a run around in the garden! I also love to go to the big park in Horsham centre, the Dinosaur park at Southwater and Buchan country park, as well as places like Tilgate Park in Crawley to see the animals.
I also like to go to various baby and toddler groups and I feel this is a great way for children to interact with their peers.
My Qualifications
I am a Level 3 qualified Early Years Educator.
I have my CYPOP5 which is the home-based childcare qualification and this extensively covers the following topics:
* establishing a safe and healthy home-based childcare environment
* partnerships with parents
* how to provide play and activities for children in home-based settings
* the importance of quality and inclusion
* safeguarding (I have also been on a stand-alone Safeguarding/Child Protection course)
* supporting positive behaviour
I have my paediatric first aid certificate and a food hygiene certificate.
I continuously stay up to date with new training and information.

If you are looking for childcare in Horsham I can thoroughly recommend Vicky. She has been minding my two children for a number of years now before and after school and provides a safe and enjoyable environment for them. She actively encourages development with well thought out and planned activities. My children (and I) think she's amazing!!

Vicky has been an amazing influence on my clingy 2 - almost 3 year old! He's never been looked after by anyone else, and Vicky has done an amazing job settling him in to spending one day a week with her. He has really flourished under her care, and is always full of talk at the end of each day about all the fun they've had. She provides a weekly diary with photos and info, so I don't feel like I'm missing out! She does all the things I secretly know I should be doing with him but don't have the energy! Music, arts and crafts, baking, nature hunts, riding on buses - all wonderful things and especially if I don't have to do them! My son is becoming much more independent with her careful guidance, and I am just so pleased we got him a place with her at the beginning before she gets full up!
