About Me
Hi, my name is Laura. I am a ofsted OUTSTANDING in all areas, quality assured network registered childminder. I have recently been accepted on to the paycey quality assurance scheme, this means that I follow the pacey and city councils quality and assurance guidelines, providing the best quality of care to children. This is an accredited network in Peterborough and is useful for parents to know their children are in the best possible care. I also offer the free government funded spaces to children aged 2,3 and 4, children of this age could receive 15 hours fully funded care to prepare them for starting school.
I live in Yaxley with my husband and 2 wonderful sons.
We have 2 friendly cats and our outside pet corner has a lovely floppy eared rabbit which the children love to pet and feed.
My working hours are 8-6 tho flexibility can be arranged. I am fully insured and like to get out and about as much as we can to link in with our learning themes- some of our recent trips have seen us visit a local firestation, a ride on a train and a visit to a gurdwara as part of our diwali celebrations. We attend many toddler groups all over peterborough and make use of local attractions such as sims gym, parks, library etc I am very creative and love nothing more than planning creative activities for the children aswel as plenty of baking, music and dance and everyday learning such as practicing our numbers, colours, alphabet etc we have 2 exciting play rooms one is set out a bit like a classroom for our more table top structured learning and the other full of bright fun toys. We have a good sized rear garden which is enclosed and not overlooked with a variety of outdoor equipment including a bouncy castle which comes out on those lovely sunny days.We also have a enclosed messy play area which also has a childrens table and chairs for outside learning. We like to grow our own veggies and have sunflower growing competitions- the children are very proud when they take these home!
all of the house is registered meaning children can feel home from home they have thier own shoe area and peg for coat and bag we have stair gates, fire place guard, booster seats, high chair, reigns, tripple buggy and all the safety equipment you would expect to see from a chidcare provider
My Experience
i have worked in education settings for 10 years teaching adults with special needs music and performing arts followed by working as a teaching assistant/ after school club supervisor and supporting young children 1-1 with thier learning and activities. I have worked closely with speech and language therapists, physiopherapists and many other forms of professionals of which i have gained experience from. I love working with children of all ages and thrive from running a childcare business using my qualfications/ experience from working in education and my knowledge of the EYFS in the classroom using this to plan fun learning outcomes for the children and thier developmental stage........

My daughter hasn't been at Laura's for long but she is already well settled. Laura and Dean are friendly and great with the children. Plenty of fun and educational activities which they cater to all the different ages (my daughter started at 5 months old and was being involved!).
I am very happy I found Laura's Explorers and have no issues with leaving my child in her care, having a lovely childminder made my transition back to work much easier!
