My first steps into childcare involved voluntary work on a regular basis for the crèche facility at The Bransholme Women’s Centre, Hull. I have also enjoyed teaching children Sunday School lessons at my local church. I come from parents that are very family orientated, who have continued this love through providing foster care to others over many years.
I have also travelled extensively throughout the world with previous families, remaining versatile and flexible. Gaining solid experience in helping the children deal with adjustment to their new environments and ensuring disruption to the child’s routine is kept to a minimum.
Interests
Pilates/Yoga, Baking, Photography, Theatre, Reading, Rugby, Travel and Cooking. The latter being a life-passion and incorporating it with my travels and attending a cookery holiday in Tuscany. I also enjoy socialising and entertaining with friends and family. I currently hold Full National Trust membership which also enables me to take children in my care on fun but educationally rewarding days out.
At present I am studying for a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People as i wish to continue personal and professional progression
My Experience
18 years experience as an outgoing, professional and conscientious career nanny who genuinely adores children, prides herself in her common-sense approach and just as importantly possesses a good sense of humour. My key strengths include high levels of patience, competence and a good imagination with both diet and daily activities. I have proved my ability to adapt and be flexible throughout these years. I communicate well with parents, keeping them informed on all daily activities, menus and future events. I would like a family interested in a warm, loving, energetic and committed nanny.
Responsibilities in my previous positions have included nursery duties, washing and ironing, and maintaining children’s rooms; organising and running small play groups, educational outings, swimming, social events and help with homework; cooking varied and nutritious meals and co-ordinating children’s activities with regard for differing sibling age-groups.
My charges have ranged from new-born to 9 years, and my main aim has always been to provide stimulation and learning through play in a relaxed, safe and happy atmosphere.
My Qualifications
Educational History: 9 GCSE’s gained at Bilton Grange High School, Hull. 1983-87.
Food Hygiene Certificate held
Paediatric 1st Aid trained
My Availability
Currently employed on a full-time basis. Employers needs have changed and they are now seeking someone part-time. We have an agreement in place of 4 weeks notice.
