My Summary
About Me
My name is Caitlin, I am a 27 year old, full time nanny with over eight years experience in teaching and childcare. I currently have a full time position working with three wonderful children but still have some time for babysitting, feel free to contact me!
I have had a very varied care career ranging from teaching art and drama at a secondary school, outdoor activity instruction to potty training to special needs care. I began Nannying whilst studying for my first degree and have continued in child care throughout my adult life. During this time I have looked after 13 fabulous children across nine families, helping them to grow and develop through my time with them.
As a creative person I use a lot of making and doing activities to entertain and educate the children in my care. I also think that being outside and engaged in high energy activity is extremely important and enjoyable for young children. I have a firm but fair attitude and enjoy taking the children out on big days out or staying in making and doing. Nannying is now not only my career but my passion, I love my job and cannot wait to start a new adventure with a new family.
My Experience
My previous childcare and educational jobs are as follows:
The Lowndes-Jones Family, Central London (June 19 - Present) – Since June I have been working full time with the lovely Lowndes-Jones family. I have been in sole charge of a two-year-old boy and four-year-old girl. Some of my duties are cooking, laundry, school runs, scheduling day to day activities, shopping, finances, extracurricular trips, packing for holidays, party planning among other responsibilities. Since starting I have assisted with potty training and speech therapy for the younger boy as well as finding new and exciting skills and activities to learn with the older girl such as ballet and performing arts.
I have also taken on the role of Governess during the Corvid-19 lock down. Living in the with family and educating both children simultaneously.
The Bradley Family, London (Oct 18 - May 19) - Upon moving to London I was hired to take care for two energetic boys aged 18 months and 3 years for three days a week. My daily duties consist of doing the school run in the morning for the eldest boy who attends pre-school. I then take the younger to an engaging activity such as music class or messy play. We then have nap time, prepare a nutritious lunch then pick up the eldest boy from pre-school. I will then take them home for dinner, bath and bed time. During half term I take both boys to central London for engaging cultural experiences such as the Natural History museum. We also enjoy drawing, nature walks, cooking and playing together.
The Querfert Family, London (Oct 18 - Present) - I have also been working with a lovely seven year old girl as an after school nanny for two days a week. A regular evening consists of arriving at her house and collecting the car keys to drive to school. I pick her up from school and take her home where we begin completing home work, cooking dinner and other activities such as drawing or a play-date with another child. I also work extended hours during school holidays taking her out on recreational trips.
The Hernando Family, Birmingham (Sept 17 - Sept 18) - I cared for two excitable Spanish children aged two and six. I was mainly involved with the two-year-old boy for two days a week and the six-year-old girl after school and both at weekends and occasional babysitting during the evening or overnight. My duties consisted of: creating fun and engaging activities for both children, taking them out for educational or recreational trips, teaching some English to the younger boy as well as potty training and fine motor skills. I also looked after the children on a residential basis on a few occasions when the parents had engagements out of the UK.
The Field Family, Birmingham (Feb 18 - Sept 18) - For 8 months I worked with and cared for a wonderful six-year-old girl with autism. Being home educated I spent one day a week with her on recreational trips, learning new skills and teaching through play. My duties included assisting with school work, general care and being a fun and engaging companion. We learnt many new skills together and even did some residential trips to the seaside together with her parents.
The Fitter Family - Birmingham (April 18 - Sept 18) During my stay in Birmingham I worked with two home educated girls aged four and six. I mostly babysat for the family now and again until July when I moved into their house and became their part- time live in nanny. My duties involve general care, creating fun and usually art based or physical activities, putting them to bed and constructive play.
The Smith Family, Essex (Sept 16 - Sept 17) - Before leaving for my postgraduate degree I was caring for a young lady with Cerebral Palsy. I was employed on a part time basis for a year doing weekend support work for her father until June where I became full time sole carer for 6 weeks (including 2 residential trips) so she could complete her National Citizen Service. My role was to make sure miss Smith was included as much as possible in activities and socialising. I also did a lot of personal care such as toileting, putting to bed and getting her up and dressed in the morning, pill control and hoist work.
The Thomas Lord Audley School, Essex (Sept 14 - June 17) - For Three years I worked at the Thomas Lord Audley School as a Creative Arts Technician. My role was to tutor students in Art, Drama and Technology, helping them complete their work to a high standard. I also ended up teaching for a year as a substitute drama teacher and running a focus group for top set art students. My role included becoming the creative supervisor and stage manager for all school performances, making all most of the sets, costumes and props.
The Arnone Family, Cambridge (Sept 13 - May 14) - During my undergraduate degree I looked after three boys aged 6, 8 and 10. I did the school run in the mornings and evenings for 3 days a week. My duties consisted of cooking dinner, helping with homework and taking them to several different activity clubs.
Outdoor Instructor for Essex Outdoors, Essex (May 12 - Sept 14 SEASONAL) - I trained in a range of outdoor activities and delivered education sessions to children and adults from the ages of eight to eighty. These activities varied from fun and exciting sessions such as climbing and archery to more communicative team building exercises. I was also trained in first aid, pool safety as well as disability awareness and safeguarding.
The Giles Family, Essex (Oct 09 - May 11) - I looked after a 10-year-old little girl for just over a year every Saturday during my time at college. My duties were to entertain and make sure she was occupied all day until her mother could pick her up in the evening.
Mersea island Festival, Essex (Camps 2008 - 2018) - I have volunteered for ten years at Mersea Island Festival. A festival aimed at highlighting disability inclusion, every September the festival sets up and runs activities and workshops for both disabled and able-bodied families to have fun, socialise, learn and complete activities together.

Caitlin has been employed as our After School Nanny since November 2018. She works 2 afternoons a week looking after our daughter, Amalia and full days in the school holidays.
She collects Amalia from school in our car and then brings her home to do homework and cook her dinner. On a Friday, when they have more time, Caitlin is great at organising fun things to do. They also have great fun together in the holidays on days out which Caitlin planned.
Amalia has learning difficulties and Caitlin is kind, patient and very supportive but she is also strict when necessary.
Most importantly, Caitlin is very responsible and I trust her implicitly with Amalia.
Cailtin is only leaving us as she needs to work longer hours otherwise we would definitely keep her on. I would highly recommend Caitlin as a nanny.
Caitlin has nannied for our 7 year old daughter for 8 months, and she has been a big hit. From the outset she has been responsible and I have felt able to trust her with my daughter's care and wellbeing. She's really fun, and easy going, and enthusiastic. She's joined in with our daughter's interests, encouraged her creativity, introduced her to new experiences and days out and sat with her patiently when she's been tired and low in energy.
She feels really like a part of our family. When she moves to London it's a sad day for all of us.
