About Me
Hello! My name is Katrina (Kat) and I'm 31 years old and a mummy to a little girl, born April 2022. I have a kind and gentle nature and love seeing children flourish and develop. I have worked in a special needs school for 5 years, I have worked with some families for 8 years and I also have experience in a residential setting. I have been part of so many amazing moments with the children I work with and this is one of the many reasons I love to support children and their families.
My Experience
I have worked with children of all ages, including working in a school for children with special needs. I have also been a PA for lots of different children with special needs. I have supported children with Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, behavioural issues, degenerative conditions, Retts syndrome, autism, epilepsy, adhd, foetal alcohol syndrome and lots more.
I also have nannying experience, working with children with and without special needs.
My Qualifications
I hold a Level 3 Childcare and Education qualification. I also have a First Aid certificate. I have safeguarding training, moving and handling, mental health in children training and behaviour management too. Also trained in gastrostomy feeding, Buccolam and medication administration, suctioning, trachy care, ventilation (invasive and non invasive), oxygen therapy, catheterising and hoisting.

We met Kat a couple of years ago and asked for her help with our then 3 year old daughter who has autism, high anxiety and can be pretty demand avoidant. She was struggling with peers, frequent meltdowns and high anxiety but Kat completely turned this around, almost instantly!
Our daughter became more confident with other children and after refusing nursery every day, was suddenly happy to go in! (Kat was happy to support our daughter in her nursery too not just our home). She very quickly gained our daughter's trust and really took the time to get to know her (and all of her many and ever changing likes)! Taking on all of the characters that she asked her to be daily : )
Kat has had a huge impact and I'm sad we don't see her as often since our daughter has now started her school journey. BUT she will always be welcome and we are grateful for the continued support from her. She has made our daughter smile and laugh so much and is just an all round kind and genuine person. She is a joy to be around, a complete natural with children and has an incredible amount of patience!
