My Summary
About Me
Childminder in abbots Langley.
Hello, I’m Tyla 27 years old based in abbots Langley next to leavesden park in a lovely 2 bedroom house. I like my nursery to feel like a home from home so children feel happy, comfortable and supported and for them to be able to have fun while they learn. I have a 19 month old son who is super bubbly, happy and loves play time with his mummy and daddy. He’s the happiest most loving boy ever, such a personality.
I am reliable, fun loving and committed. I like to keep numbers down so there is plenty of time for 1-1, I think it is very important to children as well as independent supervised play. Days/routine will include messy play (painting, play dough, creativity), baking (I’m a semi professional so always great to teach), lots of outdoor play either in my garden or out walking to parks, puddle splashing, forage hunts, or petting farms. We love music time, stories time, rhyme time and soft play.
All that will be included in my fees, cakes, pictures or anything made by the children and healthy snacks.
I can do school picks up from tanner wood (as I pick from from there already.
I don’t accept free childcare vouchers unfortunately. If anyone is interested or wanting a viewing please feel free to message me to discuss.
I still have spaces available always happy to talk through hours, times and rates and to visit my home nursery.

I was very nervous of starting childcare with my daughter being so young but needing to get back to work as my maternity leave was nearly up. Tyla has been fantastic in easing this transition. From the first time she cared for my daughter she was brilliant at sending updates and making sure I knew she was happy and safe. Now nearly 6 months later I feel so happy that my daughter has regular care with Tyla and her family. Tyla has been so fantastic and understanding of our childcare needs. She is flexible and adaptable which we need as my partner and I are both self employed with ever changing schedules. She is warm and attentive and our daughter is always happy to spend time with her.

Thank you so much for your positive feedback, it’s been sooo beautiful to have her with us, and to watch her and her personality grow! My boy is so obsessed and loves having (overnight care) sleep overs with her, their bond is lovely. Thank you for letting us have her.
We have had the pleasure of having Tyla as our childminder for the past four months, and we cannot speak highly enough of her. Tyla has been nothing short of fantastic in caring for our 5-year-old daughter, and we are extremely grateful to have her as part of our child's life.
Tyla's dedication and commitment to her role as a childminder are truly commendable. She picks up our daughter from school three days a week and ensures that she is engaged and entertained throughout the afternoon. The variety of activities she plans, such as arts and crafts and occasional baking sessions, keeps our daughter excited and eager to learn. Tyla's creativity shines through these activities, making them both fun and educational.
In our four months with Tyla, we have witnessed her unique and special qualities as a childminder. Her genuine care, kindness, and attentiveness set her apart. Tyla goes above and beyond, engaging our 5-year-old daughter with creative activities and ensuring she feels cherished. The bond formed between our daughter and Tyla's own little boy is truly heartwarming.
We trust Tyla completely, thanks to her professionalism and reliability. She keeps us informed about our daughter's activities throughout the afternoon, demonstrating her commitment to open communication. Tyla is an exceptional childminder, and we consider ourselves fortunate to have found someone who nurtures our child with unwavering love and kindness. If you're seeking a childminder who is one of a kind, we wholeheartedly recommend Tyla.
What sets Tyla apart is the special bond she has formed between our daughter and her own little boy. It's heartwarming to witness the friendship blossoming between them. Their interactions have been incredibly positive and have enriched our daughter's social development. We feel fortunate that our daughter has the opportunity to form a strong relationship with Tyla's little one as well.

Thank you so much for this amazing feedback and glad the feelings are mutual.
Just to start thank you for choosing me (Moonbows) as your nursery of choice, not only am I happy to have you as a part of our family, but my son is too. He can’t get out the buggy quick enough for cuddles with her! There bond truly is so beautiful and we can not wait for our new arrivals to join soon too, with all 3 kids asking to come over and join us.
I’m so glad we get this fantastic opportunity to work along side each other, our little team. Roll on more days out with the little ones! I’ll keep cutting my rosemary bush for you to take some home haha.
Thank you for bringing me and Tristan a new best friend and vice Versa (as your daughter asked if we could be her best friends haha). Here’s to more adventures of learning and fun.
Because of a house move we found ourselves needing a childminder at very short notice who could also collect our daughter from school, and we were really so lucky to find Tyla (aka Moonbows). From the moment we met her, we knew our child would be in good hands - she is warm, kind, and caring, and her love for children is evident in everything she does.
Our child is always excited to go to Tyla's house, and comes home with stories of all the fun they had together. Tyla always plans engaging activities, from arts and crafts to outdoor games, and even excursions to the park and soft play, that keeps our daughter entertained and learning.
One thing that sets Tyla apart is her communication skills. She keeps us updated throughout the day with photos and messages, which gives us peace of mind knowing that our child is happy and safe. She also takes the time to listen to our concerns and preferences, for example around snacks, and adapts her care accordingly.
Overall, we couldn't be happier with Tyla and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wonderful childminder. She has become a part of our family and we are very grateful for her exceptional care.

Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! It really is a pleasure working with you and your daughter. We are so lucky to have formed not only an amazing working relationship but a happy and warming friendship too.
Your daughter is so lovely to look after, always happy with the activities set out. She is just a joy to be around, and I’m very grateful for the communication between my family and yours.
Thank you for giving me the best job I could ask for.
Hi,
My name is Cristina and I have had 18 months baby boy now in childcare at Moonbows (Tyla Smith) for past 6 months.
Even though I have been warned about her non easygoing way of being, she was very close and convenient to me as I was not having a car at the start of.
Yesterday she had terminated my baby s contract with immediate effect after she agreed on a notice given from us at pick up, until end of June.
Yesterday I’ve been called to go pick up my son as he vomited after breakfast. My son was up from 6:30am, when I get to her I’ve told her that he might want to sleep straight away and she reply: “he needs to wait”.
No matter how tired my baby was he needed to wait because she doesn’t have enough rooms and travel coats for the children in care, so my son needed to wait for her son to woke up so he can go in his bed.
At 10am I left job to pick up my son and when get there he was all happy, laughing, playing. No temperature, his poo was normal and no sign of sickness at all. Apart from rejecting his breakfast. I, then, said it might have been his breakfast. And I have ask if we can be back next day and she told me no for 48 hours. We started having a dissertation about this sick policy and what is going under a sick policy, as my baby was perfectly normal.
Even I was wrong, as a parent I put questions and that doesn’t need to feel rude or inappropriate. We are in the end the ones looking for the best way to keep our children safe and healthy, but we are also working and have a lot more to do.
I am a single mom, the only person my little boy relies on. I am a full time working parent and Moonbows decided to terminate my childcare because she felt that I have been rude asking questions about the sick policy.
I have to say that I felt something is wrong for a while but I never wanted to jump to conclusions. All the text that my son doesn’t eat by himself, doesn’t help her when dressing up, doesn’t do that or that… when all the things she has ever mentioned, my son is perfectly doing them and I have sent her several videos to prove that.
Everyone who knows me and my baby, all doctors that has ever been seeing my child says that he is doing amazingly.
I am not saying I am the perfect mom, but to terminate a contract, not giving the chance to find another care, putting my job in jeopardy and cause all this stress I am going trough now for the fact that she cannot take any another opinion? That’s completely wrong!
I am now trying to find a childminder by the end of the week so I won’t be loosing my job, the only job that keep this family floating. What kind of person doesn’t this to anyone?
On top of everything she is lying so easily about everything that happened. She is sustaining I have been rude or yelled, and it’s not the truth and she knows it. Reason for which she blocked me straight away from here so no bad review will follow.
I have texted her on WhatsApp why would she do that, why is she lying and she said: “I don’t even deserve her response”.
Well, I think I was deserving at least a response for the last 6 months of paying her for childminding my son. How rude is that?
All because a sick policy and me asking why do I need to keep my baby home 48 hours if he doesn’t look sick, act sick or feeling sick, and we were having a conversation about this as my baby vomited his breakfast. Otherwise nothing wrong with him, and he has been fine all day after and continues to be as happy and bubbly as ever.
No compassion at all! Very unprofessional. And more to say but better no.

Response by Moonbows on 10/05/2023:
I’m so sorry you feel this way, it is getting dealt with through ofsted.
On my sick policy as explained the child has to be 48hrs clear from the occurrence even if they seem themselves afterwards as I need to keep safe myself, and everyone else in my care as we weren’t to know if it was going to become something else.
In the morning at 8:25am when you arrived my son was still asleep. The children sleep in there fine it was half hour hour he would need to have waiting as my child was asleep. You also wanted me to give him breakfast when he arrived so I did that first.
I run a zero tolerance policy, and I will not allow myself or any other children to be at the fall front of disagreement. As stated in section 6.3.1 in the contract.
I wish you luck and can hope you find someone better suited for your needs hoping there’s is a 4th childminder close by for you.
Take care.
