Best experience for the little one

I would like to start by expressing my heartfelt thanks to Shafaq and Kamal for all the wonderful memories we've created with our boy. Our journey together began when Noah was just 9 months old and he will be soon 2 years old. We were searching for a suitable place for him, and after hearing recommendations from friends about Shafaq's establishment, I can honestly say we felt incredibly blessed from the very beginning.

From our first visit, we were welcomed with warmth, and the atmosphere immediately felt calming and comforting for our little one. We could instantly sense Shafaq and Kamal's genuine love for children, which gave us so much peace of mind. Even though we had some initial concerns about how Noah would adjust, I can confidently say that Shafaq and Kamal exceeded all our expectations. They are truly exceptional, and their passion for what they do is evident in every interaction.

Noah has made so many milestones with them—he took his first steps, said his first words, and made his first friends. And beyond that, they introduced him to activities we never thought a child his age could experience: coloring, painting, crafting, dancing, and so much more. Shafaq and Kamal are full of surprises, always coming up with new ways to engage and nurture the children in their care. They even surprise us as parents with their thoughtfulness and creativity.

My partner and I could not be happier with our decision to entrust Noah's care to them. They are incredibly supportive, patient, and always keep us informed with updates, photos, and videos of Noah’s day-to-day activities. Thanks to Shafaq and Kamal, Noah is growing into a happy, confident little boy who loves being surrounded by people. We truly believe they have made a significant positive impact on his life.

Sending my very best wishes to Shafaq and Kamal, and while words will never fully capture our gratitude, please know that we are deeply thankful for everything you've done for our family.

Brilliant!

I posted on this site as we had reserved a place for our daughter at the local nursery but as I had to return to work earlier than her place was available, we had to find a temporary place for her for 6 weeks!
Shafaq was one of the first to reach out to me and after meeting her and her husband Kamal, we knew it would be a great fit for us and they were happy to take her!
Considering it was a temporary placement, they both welcomed our 14m old daughter with such kindness and care. It was evident she was looked after very well; she was safe, had lots of outdoor time, exposure to a variety of age appropriate toys, her development came on leaps and bounds, and our daughter both ate and slept really well there. It was clear she enjoyed being there which gave us parents real peace of mind.
Shafaq & Kamal sent us regular updates and photos/ videos throughout the day via whatsapp, gave us clear instructions on what our daughter would need and how they operate and we felt everything went very smoothly. They have even reached out since to ask how our daughter has settled into nursery :)
Had it not been for our own personal childcare needs (e.g. longer hours, etc), we would loved for our daughter to have had a permanent placement there so we highly recommend them to anyone.
Thank you so much for looking after our daughter so well, offering her a temporary placement despite the high demands in the area and being a fantastic example of what childcare should look like.

Above and Beyond!!

My 2 year old son has been going to Shafaq and Kamal's house for a year now.

He settled very well during the first couple of days of being there, which is quite surprising considering toddlers can take ages to adjust to a new environment.

Since the time he's been there, we can see a massive change in him. His speech is delayed and hasn't said a word yet, however they make him feel so comfortable in their setting that he doesn't want to come home sometimes! He has now started interacting and communicating in different ways and all the credit goes to them as they have gone above and beyond their normal responsibilities to make sure he learns, interacts and at the same time ensuring that we as parents are kept at ease. This just goes to show how professional they truly are.

They send us regular pictures of him playing/interacting on a daily basis. My son will happily eat there and on occasions when he refuses to eat anything, Shafaq will go out of her way to give him something else to eat, which I think is commendable.

I can go on and on praising them (as they are truly worth the praise), however if you are looking to send your child to a childminder who will treat your child as their own then I wouldn't think twice to send them here.

Our kids were well looked after .....

Our two lovely kids 4 and 2 yrs old had a great time at Shafaq and Kamal . They were well looked after and each day we were receiving photos with different activities.

Our kids enjoyed so much the time spent at their house and sadly we had to finish the contract with them as it was only for 2 months. Thank you so much for all the help and wish you all the best !

Caring and very polite

After my maternity leave, we were so worried to leave my little baby who was just 10 months old at child care, but one of our friend’s suggested Shafaq & Kamal Khan.
After reading reviews about them we decided to meet them, after meeting with them for twice we were completely satisfied that my little Baby is going to stay with them when we are at our work.

And undoubtedly they have looked really well and my little one was happy to go there.

We were always updated about my little one is feeling through our WhatsApp group where regular photos and videos are uploaded.

Sometimes we use to get delays in the evening to pick up my little one but they were completely OK with it and never showed any frustration to us.

Really loving, caring and polite people.

My daughter's second family

Shafaq and Kamal Khan had been childminding my daughter for around 2 years and I could not have expected a better care than what was provided by them. My older son visited a nursery and I did not have any experience with childminders. However, my expectations have been exceeded. They are flexible where they can and my daughter loved to go to their house which is very lovely with many toys and bright colours. At times where my daughter was upset with me, she said she wanted to go to Shafaq aunty's house :) This year my daughter is starting with reception but if we ever should need a childminder again, it would be Shafaq and Kamal despite the fact that we have moved house. Thanks you so much for having provided such excellent care. I always had peace of mind when Liyanne was with you. I wish you all the best :)

Second Home.

When moving to Slough, there was so much to do such as applying for schools, nurseries and looking for the perfect childminders while looking for work.
I registered with Childcare.co.uk and stated what I needed and Shafaq got in touch with me straight away.

Upon meeting her and her husband Kamal at their home, I was taken back at how they have modified their home into a safe, play haven for children. I knew straight away that my two boys would fit in perfectly here and most of all, they would love it. They have everything that is needed to fill up a day full of activities and fun. I didn't even consider looking for another childminder.

Zayn is full time with Shafaq and Kamal, while Noah comes after 3 pm every day. They have been with them for a year and a half and I plan to keep them both with them for as long as I need childcare!

Zayn is two now and still struggles with speech which frustrates him at times when he's trying to tell us something, but Shafaf and Kamal both understand him and knows how to deal very well with his frustrations. They treat him like he's their own child, sometimes I feel like he doesn't want to come home with me!

My boys are very well looked after and very at home with Shafaq and Kamal. I walk away every day feeling very at peace and I have the sense of security that they are happy and most of all safe.

We are always updated with what the children are up to through our Whatsapp group where regular photos and videos of their antics are uploaded.

The boys are provided with lunch every day from home but sometimes I find that they haven't eaten from it, but I'm pleasantly assured that Shafaq offers them something from her own fridge to fill them up so they never come home hungry.

At the end of the year, we are given an end of year folder of the progress that the child has made, with added drawings and printed photos.

Shafaq and Kamal are very polite and most importantly, professional and are experts at what they do.

I couldn't ask for better childcare.

Lovely and friendly

My daughter has been going to Shafaq since she turned 1 from March 2018 and settled incredibly well from the onset. I liked how Shafaq and Kamal arranged the intensive settling in sessions before she started full time ensuring full attention was provided to her.

I have never been anxious to drop my daughter to Shafaq and Kamal as I have full trust that they will take care of my daughter in a loving, caring and nurturing way. Shafaq and Kamal take pride in their home and that is also demonstrated in the clean and organised environment. A special touch is the personal What’s App group for parents whereby videos and photos are shared frequently providing us with reassurance that my daughter is happy and content.

The individual portfolio per child is a lovely memorabilia which contains pictures, my daughters artwork and a log of developmental milestones in line with the Early Years Curriculum. My daughter has slight speech delay and Shafaq will update me daily on the progress she is making with my daughter to learn new words. In addition Shafaq and Kamal’s flexibility has been really appreciated and I never shy away discussing my personal requirements with them.

It is clearly evident that Shafaq loves her job as a childminder and I’m happy my daughter attends a home from home environment.

I have recommended Shafaq and Kamal to others and wouldn’t hesitate to do so again.

Home away from Home...

Daud started with Shafaq & Kamal back in September 2017. Even though Daud took longer than expected to settle due to him having separation anxiety. It was great to know that Shafaq and her warmth and love made the journey easier for not only Daud but for me and my husband.

Daud truly does enjoy being at Shafaq & Kamal's and this is evident from the video clips and photos that are shared on the Whatsapp group for us as a family. This group is a great idea to ensure that we are kept in touch with Dauds day and for us all to have have effective communication.

Daud has done some lovely pieces of work, and this is all in his portfolio which we not long ago saw and were totally impressed with. Daud has brought home such beautiful cards for Birthdays, Ramadan and Eid.. made a beautiful Easter basket and Christmas decorations.

Daud has shown such progression in his development and this is so lovely to see. Daud continues to develop at his own pace and this has been through hard work from Shafaq and perseverance. We are pleased that Shafaq shows such dedication and time to all the children in her care.

I provide Daud with a packed lunch and drink however I i am rest assured that if Daud doesn’t eat what I’ve sent, that Shafaq will happily offer him an alternative. Hence saying it’s like home away from home.

My youngest Ayesha is due to start with Shafaq & Kamal and this decision was so effortless to make.. we as parents are confident in the care that our children will get and that the setting is safe and will help our children thrive and develop.

We would always recommend Shafaq and kamal to anyone that is looking for care at such great standards.

Absolutely amazing childcare providers.

Shafaq and Kamal have been our sons’ childminder since he was 19 months old (February 2019) until present.

Shiv has shown a vast improvement in the last year he has been going there, with Shafaq and Kamal providing a clean and structured setting for kids to play and learn in, various planned activities throughout the day, outdoor and indoor play depending on the weather, story time arts and crafts, music time etc.

Communication is key here, whenever I drop and pick up Shiv, I always get updates on Shivs daily activities, what went well and what we can improve working together with Shafaq and Kamal and at home.
We also have a group chat on whatsapp where Shafaq Kamal myself and my husband can all communicate with each other throughout the day and see photos of Shiv and how he is doing, which is very assuring. Overall great written and verbal communication.

Our little monkey is a fussy eater, however, I have seen great improvements with the help of Shafaq and Kamal asd they take their time and make sure Shiv has eaten properly and has eaten enough. I am aware that if Shiv doesn’t want to eat the food given to him from home Shafaq will ask Shiv what he would like and would go the extra mile and make what she knows shiv likes and will eat. Considering there are other children who attend their childcare, this is excellent as it shows how they both adapt to children’s needs and are very organised.

Shafaq and Kamal have been very supportive throughout our time with them and they continue to do so. They have been very flexible and understanding of our personal home life. Shiv had to start immediately due to our sudden change of circumstance, and he has not once shown me he is unhappy. As soon as Kamal and Shafaq open their door for Shiv in the morning, he runs straight inside which also makes my husband and I happy knowing he is in a happy and safe place surrounded by wonderful childcare providers who play an important role in our child’s life.

I would not hesitate in recommending anyone to Shafaq and Kamal as they always make time for us and have never let us down.
