My Summary
About Me
With over 40 years of experience under my belt, in private and public setting, I have endeavoured to deliver education that lasts a lifetime. My metacognition approach is about instilling habits in students to become independent learners, teaching them how to take control of their own learning. Learners who use metacognitive strategies are likely to achieve more than their counterparts. No matter what the reason of your child’s attendance, my methods of teaching are proven to have brought success. Whether your children are mini geniuses or in need of building confidence, I have the right approach to ensure that your child develops in the most effective manner.
Personal Description: I am a mother of 3 and a grand-mother to 4. I have been teaching since my children were born. I gave them solid foundation in: Maths, English and Science. I found straight away that it was my calling. My commitment enabled to bring great laurels in their education and in their working life. Teaching became an ardent passion and a way of life. Just like my grandchildren are my pupils now, my ex-students’ children are my pupils. I grew up in a family who believed in Education and discipline. Now I practice these, times by 100. It aspires me to make a significant contribution to the development of children and add value to their lives besides just building mastery in academics.
I often get asked, but how do you motivate pupils?
We are living at a time of an increasing pace of modern life and with it comes stress and frustration, no doubt. Over time, it can cause students to lose motivation leading to anxiety, lack of confidence and an insolence towards school and learning. I believe, education is not just for making a living but it is also about how to be able to deal with everyday challenges and demands of life. With this in mind, my theme of nurturing, engaging and challenging runs parallel in my mind whilst teaching. I have an innate ability to build life skills: such as, aptitude and artistry to deal with stress and frustration. I improve pupil confidence and concentration and help them understand the concept of Cause-and-Effect. My steely determination enables me to understand my pupils and get the best out of them.
My Experience
My experience has taught me that every child is an achiever. My experience has helped me understand ‘how’ children learn and ‘what’ motivates them. One of the main reasons of children being held back is because of incorrect pencil hold and poor posture. The latter puts a strain on the body causing discomfort. It is quite easy to disregard the importance of the actual hand position in relation to the pencil and paper for handwriting; sadly children pay a huge price as a result. Poor pencil grip can make the children slow, causing anxiety, frustration leading to low self-esteem. As an occupational therapist/teacher, I evaluate the underlying workings that support a student's handwriting, such as muscle strength, endurance, coordination, and motor control. I help to improve those muscles needed to foster correct pencil grip. Pencil grippers is like taking an aspirin. It alleviates the symptoms while you are using it, but it does not fix the underlying problem, a weak hand. With a good foundation to build upon, developing the correct pencil grasp is much easier.
A parent once commented, “You are firm but fair and your time keeping skills are your fortitude.”
“There can be no other way,” I replied. “I know my time with my students is limited so I try to make as much of a positive impact in the time I have with them.”
I think, education is not an empty cup; it is about so much more than mere factual knowledge. It is also about developing one’s inner self and one’s intuitive capabilities above and beyond just facts.
My work is of highest regal standards; I strive for quality lesson after lesson and exceed the expectations of every parent/pupil. I am seen as a special educationist driven by desire and passion committed to the pursuit of excellence. It gives me so much joy seeing the delight in the eyes of the parents when they see my fearless conviction helping their children succeed.
In my spare time, I do Ballroom and Latin dancing. And, I love writing. I published my first book in 2012 and now am writing my second and third book simultaneously. One is about my healing journey and the other is about citizenship. I have inspired many young people to write. Some, as young as 10, are writing short stories hoping to publish, someday. And, during the pandemic besides doing zoom lessons, I brushed on my piano skills.
My new founded interest in the unique connection of Mind-Body-Soul has inspired me to educate about nutrition and how it plays a part in understanding that our body is our universe. Just like nourishment is connected to the loving awareness of the universe, so are we! When we choose food wisely to strengthen metabolism function, we connect to Nature’s powerful healing elements. My recent healing experience has provided me with first-hand experience, and I am keen to share this priceless knowledge with others; do feel free to ask for Food and Nutrition advise.

I started in year 5 in preparation for my 11+ exams. I learnt English and Maths. She helped to improve my spelling punctuation and grammar as well as my reading and handwriting. She also helped me to understand topics such as formula, bidmas and algebra. As a tutor, she was very understanding and made difficult subjects manageable. She was a determined teacher who strived to get the best out of me.

Ms Hans is a beautiful soul who helped my daughter become the confident woman she is today. I will always be grateful for the time and care she spent with my daughter when she had tuition and especially during one summer. She managed to achieve what the school failed to do for my daughter. I will always remember how my daughter would tell me they would go to the garden and get the tomatoes and make lunch. I was really upset when she moved as I really wanted my younger daughter to have tuition from Ms Hans too. Hand on heart I haven’t come across another Ms Hans, she one in a million! I’m truly thankful for all you have done for my daughter and thanks to you she’s now at Kings College London and has a great future ahead of her.
My son and daughter began tutoring with Ms Hans last summer. When my daughter could not continue with Ms Hans due to some learning difficulties, Ms Hans was extremely understanding and helpful in finding a solution to help her. Grateful!
My son on the other hand really took to Ms Hans superior style of tutoring. She has high standards of discipline and neatness in presented work both of which key for personal and academic success. Although my son now boards in his secondary school he continues to see Ms Hans in his holidays as he’s realised that work done with Ms Hans over last summer has set him way ahead of his peers in his year group. I’m grateful to Ms Hans for bringing out the best in him and stretching him beyond his comfort zone.
My son started lessons with Ms Hanz as he was really struggling in his school. Ms Hanz assessed his needs and tailored the lessons based on it. She worked on his awkward pencil hold, handwriting, reading, numeracy, and so much more. I think she has definitely helped him gain his confidence in the school setting and removed hesitation of writing. She has definitely transformed him into a fluent reader which created his love for books. In a matter of few months, my son has developed an interest and love for learning. She has such a patient, firm and yet assertive way. She instills the trust, confidence in us that this is the right path of learning for our son.
Ms Hans is truly an amazing lady! My children have improved so much with her teaching. They actually come out of their sessions smiling and wanting to do more which is great. Ms Hans is very knowledgable and an inspiring lady with writing her own book and many other things. We have got to know her very well over the past year and half and are very grateful to her. I highly recommend her for anyone thinking about tutoring. Wish we had met earlier!
