Our two boys (4&3) go to Aunty Wendy’s 3 days a week and they absolutely love the time they spend at Wendy’s amazing home. Wendy (and Nanny Lorraine) is so much for than a childminder. She has supported my partner and I so much; giving advice, guidance and reassurance, so far above and beyond the call of duty. Her professionalism is exemplary, but she also manages to create a real family feel for the children in a safe and supportive environment in which they all look out for one-another. Our primary school choices have been driven by our desire to remain with Wendy; we really can’t imagine our boys being with anyone else and hope that we are able to remain part of her wonderful family for a good few years yet.

My son goes to aunty Wendy's two days a week. He has been so happy there and always looks forward to going there. Aunty Wendy is an amazing person with a kind and caring heart. My son loves the activities/toys at aunty Wendy's place. He often asks if he can stay there longer or can go there more days a week. He is that happy there.
Knowing my child is safe and happy aunty Wendy's, I have a total peace of mind with her childcare. She is brilliant with kids and all the kids there adore her. She always has a smiley and friendly face and a never a boring day for kids at her place.

Before our Son had even started with Aunty Wendy we were invited to a “family picnic” in the summer; what a perfect way to be introduced to Wendy and the other children. We were immediately put at ease and confident that we were making a great decision.
This has only been reinforced in a multitude of ways since he started in September and we really do run out of superlatives to describe just how wonderful Wendy is and how perfect her house is for a child’s enjoyment and development.
Our little bundle of craziness is not always easy (not to mention whilst caring for other children) but Wendy is so patient (even when he cries in sight of Chelsea football shirts!) and so brilliant with him and to see how happy and content he is in her regular photo updates brings a joy difficult to describe.
Fundamentally Wendy is professional, experienced and loving beyond measure and someone we can’t really imagine being without.

Our twin boys started with Aunty Wendy a year ago for two mornings a week. The setting is clean, bright, airy and the garden area is fantastic. On the very first settling session I was put at ease because of Wendy’s warm and friendly nature.
The boys didn’t take very long to settle into their two mornings a week and they are now always so excited to go. We get regular photos of what they have been up to and we love the artwork they come home with.
Wendy takes the time getting to know each of the children and their families and the setting feels like a home from home. We are delighted.

I was lucky enough to have Wendy look after my son recently and OMG, she is simply amazing! Where to start? She is caring, genuine, friendly, professional, helpful and completely dedicated to her profession. As a mum of three I have gone through many childminders in my time but Wendy really is on a different planet. Her amazing house and garden, not to mention the hundreds of different toys make Auntie Wendy’s a paradise for little ones. My son was on cloud 9 every time he came back from Wendy’s! But her minding doesn’t stop there. She engages and entertains little ones with activities that are both imaginative and formative, and makes sure that every child flourishes under her care. Besides being incredible with children, she has also the rare ability to form an instant connection with parents, with her open, frank and honest manner. But above all, she is a genuinely good person with a heart of gold. Because of circumstances that are beyond my control, unfortunately Wendy no longer looks after my son, but all the same she has won a place in our hearts and I would not hesitate to recommend her to any parent looking for quality childcare in the area.

Was anyone going to make the grade against my very strict childminder requirements? ..... the answer was YES!! My son has been looked after by Wendy for the past 4 months and we feel extremely lucky to have found her. From the first time we met her we knew our son would be in the best hands. Since day one he has been welcomed in the mornings not only by Wendy’s happy and bubbly personality but also by the other children. So far he has flourished into a confident and happy 1 year old who thoroughly enjoys his two days away from mummy. There are no words to say how grateful we are to have found such a caring, nurturing and educating home from home environment..... exactly what we were looking for. How she does it I do not know but I just hope she never stops xxxx

We have nothing but positive things to say about Wendy! She is absolutely fantastic and we're so happy that we met her. She is fun, caring, very organised, reliable, very experienced and we often ask for advice or tips on things we have forgotten over the years. e.g.. process of potty training : )
Wendy has been caring for our children since October 2012 and is currently looking after our 2 and half year old daughter 2 days a week. We could not be more happy about the development and happiness shown by our little girl.
I love the homely environment; there is always a variety of stimulating activities and fun things for the kids to do. They do lots of baking, water play, painting (with hands and feet! My daughter loved this!) frequent trips to the park, farm and much more. Children and parents are always made to feel very welcome by Wendy and her lovely family.
She has plenty of space in the garden, which is fantastic as my daughter loves to be outdoors and Wendy provides many opportunities for outside play. Wendy sends us photos and videos which we love receiving. We look at these together with our daughter and she excitedly talks about what she did or played that day.
All in all, we can honestly say that we made the best decision in choosing Wendy as our child minder back in 2012! Our daughter is so happy there, loves the environment, loves the other children and Wendy to bits. We would have no hesitation in recommending Wendy to other parents.

As someone completely new to the area, the thought of trying to find childcare for my baby daughter was daunting. The reviews online for Wendy were fabulous so we arranged to meet her at her home and from the moment we arrived I knew that Wendy was the person i wanted to childmind our baby girl. We have not regretted that decision for a second, indeed Wendy has been absolutely amazing, provides superb care for my daughter and supports me by offering a listening ear and the wisdom of her knowledge. I love hearing about my baby's day, the fun she has, the games she plays, her interaction with the other children, their days out, and getting home her arts and craft pieces. I truly believe i could not have found better care for my daughter. The facilities at Wendy's home are second to none. I know that my daughter is extremely happy at Wendy's, she is learning to play with other children (sharing is still a work in progress!), and her development has been enhanced by the fantastic educational experience provided by Wendy.

As a new mum there is nothing more daunting than making the decision to return to work and leave your precious baby in the arms of someone you’ve only just met. Being new to the area and only having the reviews online to go on, it was more than relief as I knew immediately upon visiting Wendy that I had found the right person and right environment in every way to help nurture my 6 month old son. I felt at ease as soon as Wendy greeted me and kindly took me through the process and how my son (whom I was clinging on to tightly at the time) would be cared for her within her home. Everything was so organised and so focused on providing a safe and fun-loving environment I was reassured he would flourish. Wendy provides unlimited support, care and guidance, sense of fun (along with a very wicked sense of humour!!!) and lots of patience (not just with my son but with us too). We love receiving photos as they bring smiles to our working day, as well as the opportunity to chat about his progress daily along with the lovely parents evening where we get to look through the learning journals and see our son through the eyes of someone else.
I and my partner could not recommend her enough and hope that our son brings her as much happiness as she does to him. Oodles of smiles ?.

Going back to full-time work was one of the hardest decisions I have had to make. We started looking for a childminder frantically just couple of months before and remember feeling very anxious as time was running out…until we met Wendy who came very highly recommended from online reviews, our next door neighbors and even the osteopath in town! We made a decision shortly after visiting her home and have never looked back. Wendy has been caring for our baby boy since he was 8 months old and we cannot recommend her highly enough. She is a very experienced, reliable, caring and a super organised childminder with a fun personality. Her house has been adapted perfectly for children and there is dedicated room with lots of toys (all well-organised!!!) and great outdoor area for sunny days. Children do lots of activities – drawing, making art, cooking, visiting local farms, parks and playgrounds – they have plenty to keep them entertained while learning new things. Wendy keeps a learning journal document which we get to review and add our comments to during our parent evenings (full of fun!), plus she frequently sends us photos and videos which we really appreciate!
Wendy is incredibly helpful and supportive we would be very happy to recommend her to other parents seeking a childminder.

Wendy has been an absolute life saver and amazing childminder for my 5 year old son. She nurtured a shy little school starter into a confident little boy interacting with all! She cares about every child in her house as if it is her own and she provides the best meals (according to my son better than mine) and clean, safe house with the best garden any kid can ask for. She is flexible and made every effort to put my mind at ease about how my son was getting on whilst he was with her (I am one of those constant texting to check-if-everything-is-okay-mums!) I cannot recommend her highly enough. As a working mother we always feel so guilty not being able to pick up our kids from school, but going to Wendy's house is such a treat for them it makes you feel so much better, I promise!

After a recommendation from someone at work my daughter started at Wendy's when she was 10 months old and has spent a very happy two years with her. Wendy has a wealth of experience which for me as a first-time mum really helped with the settling in process, establishing a routine and many other questions I have had about toddlers along the way! She has instilled excellent manners and high expectations of behaviour which was very important to me to see my daughter learning about sharing and how to behave towards others. My daughter has been cared for with love and as one of the family by Wendy and all her helpers and talks about them all the time during the holidays. The children have a great time doing lots of different activities including lots of time outside in Wendy's all weather garden. All of this is documented in detail in the fabulous learning journals that Wendy produces with lots of photographs and detail about their development. From a practical point of view Wendy has always been very flexible if I have had meetings after work and have needed different pick up times and I have never had to find alternative childcare in the whole two years. It has been invaluable finding someone who I can leave my daughter with in the knowledge that she will be safe and happy while I am out at work and I would recommend Wendy whole-heartedly.

We had just moved in Bishop's Stortford and only had had a brief contact with Wendy when our 3 year old son started with her two full days a week besides preschool. He loved it from our first visit when he saw the great outdoor space, the toys and the slide in the garden!
Being educators ourselves, we were looking for a childminder who would be nurturing but firm and able to adapt to our son's interests to help him grow and get ready for school. We have been really pleased with Wendy in that respect. She has a genuine love for children and supports each one of them to flourish through the learning experiences she provides.
Wendy has also been very flexible to adapt to our changing schedules in the course of the year and has been a great support to us. She is also available for parents and I have greatly appreciated that she has taken the time to chat/e-mail whenever needed. Our communication has been great and I can say that I have left my child in her hands with the peace of mind that he was being cared for just as if he were with family. I am delighted and looking forward to our son returning to Wendy's before and after school as he starts Reception this September .

My son went to Wendy in the afternoons for the year he attended the local nursery. He is now going on to reception and is very sad to not be going to play at Wendy's anymore. I can't recommend her enough, she has a fantastic balance of fun and caring for the children but retains the authority (which my son particularly needs). The setting is amazing and she has staff to help so has never let us down with sickness ect. If you are looking for a childminder visit Wendy she's fab!!!!!

What can I say about Wendy? I'm not quite sure what I would do without her! Nothing is a problem and she is flexible in a pinch, which is so important when you are stuck in a meeting 40 miles away. Wendy has looked after my baby girl since 31 March and I'm certain she treats her as one of her own beloved children, with lots of kisses and cuddles. Every day when I walk away from Wendy's house having dropped my little darling off, I'm confident she will have lots of fun and, more importantly, that she is in safe hands.

We found Wendy when we were in a fix needing a variety of ever-changing care requirements shortly before the summer of 2013. She helped us through that time and now has our toddler twins 5 days and does wrap-around care for our eldest who is in reception. Wendy is fantastic with the kids, they love going to her house, and we see daily evidence that they are receiving the sort of care and stimulation that we want for our children. Wendy also looks after us as we learn "the way of things" at our local school (Hillmead Parents 101!).
We are very happy to have found her and hope to remain in her care for many years to come.

Wendy has looked after our son and daughter since the 1st June and we could not be happier. Wendy’s home is always welcoming, clean and well organised and my son and daughter have great fun playing with all the toys available and with the other children in her care. It did not take my 18 month old son long to settle in when he started, and even whilst on our summer break away from Wendy’s care he will often mention her name. My daughter is always keen to get to Wendy’s after school. This is a reflection of the time and attention Wendy gives both of them and certainly, the sort of care every parent would want for his or her children. I would have no hesitation in recommending Wendy to other parents.

Wendy looked after my daughter from the age of 3 months and I could not have asked for better care. From day one Wendy showed that she wanted the best for her and treated her like one of her own. The experiences provided allowed my daughter to quickly thrive and develop into a happy enquisitive little girl. Trips to the farm, cooking, painting, sharing puzzles and stories or music sessions (to name but a few). All these experiences were shared in her learning journal and in daily conversations.
If I ever had a worry (as us mums do) Wendy was always there with supportive advice.
This loving and inviting home was the best place for my daughter to begin her early days and I cannot thank Wendy enough for the hard work she put in.
I would recommend Wendy to any family who want to give their children the best care available, without having to worry whilst at work, you will know straight away your child is in great care!

What can we say about wendy?............. only good things
Our daughter went to Wendy from 9 months old and stayed with her for two years and she loved every minute of it, Wendy treated her like one of her own and you can tell she genuinely loves children.
She is super organised and has all the gear for every occasion giving you confidence that that your child will always be well looked after.She took our little girl on many days out and gave her many experiences which were all documented and photos taken which really made us feel part of it.
We are sure we would still use Wendy to this day but we moved out of the area, however we still keep in touch and would recomend her to anyone for wonderful care of their children.

Wendy was involved in my two boys lives for 7 years, looking after each of them from 5 months old. She nurtured and cared for them as a mother would her own child, giving us the confidence to be able to go to work and not worry. Being with Wendy enabled them to grow up in a home from home environment with loads of toys, a big garden, other children to play with and numerous trips out. Wendy developed a special bond with both boys and they loved going to her.
I would certainly recommend Wendy to anybody who is looking for a childminder. She's a very special person who is passionate about caring for children - you couldn't leave your child in better hands!

We have had our 19-month-old daughter with Wendy for nearly a year now and we couldn’t be happier. Wendy seams to have way with children in that they all take to her and they absolutely love her, she is very good with children of all ages and caters for each and everyone of them in every way they need, treating them like part of the family. Her setting is fantastic, from guinea pigs to rabbits and a large garden with lots of outdoor activities, it is dedicated to children playing and learning through play. Wendy is very calm, caring and attentive which is exactly what we like. Our daughter has come on leaps and bounds over the last year and clearly enjoys the days she spends with Wendy and the other children.
Overall we are very pleased and we highly recommend Wendy, we couldn’t imagine using another child minder. She is friendly, approachable and very flexible when our work hours change. We are more than happy to pass on our recommendations to anyone that would like to know a bit more.

Wendy looked after my 3 children over many years before they transferred to secondary school. They continue to have a great relationship with her, which in itself shows how much they enjoyed their time with her.
I cannot recommend Wendy highly enough - she was always loving and caring and her flexibility and understanding made my start back to work smooth and easy.

My sons are 5yrs and 2yrs old and Wendy has been childminding for them since the eldest was 9 months old, and still does. I honestly could not ask for more in a childminder. As a first time mum returning to work back in 2008, she gave me the reassurance and confidence to know that my son was happy and well cared for, not to mention the endless advice as we went through all stages of baby and toddler development for the first time!
My sons absolutely love Wendy and to them and us she is family. Being full time working parents my husband and I will be forever grateful for her contribution to our sons upbringing. She listens and works with us if we have particular needs and is flexible when needed. As Wendy has had the same helpers since the start, we trust them in the same way and there has not been one day in 4.5 yrs that we have had to organise alternative childcare.
In summary I would not hesitate to recommend Wendy as a childminder to anyone looking for a loving, caring environment.
